Groningen, Netherlands-The Mola Mola Ossetra is a 350W/8 Ohm full-bridge amplifier, mono, half size chassis. With the Mola Mola Ossetra we have made another significant step in our Proprietary, Mola Mola Trajectum, class D amplifier technology.
The design of the Mola Mola Ossetra amplifier started from a blank sheet, extending its capabilities beyond the highest expectations. In the power supply we realised a significant noise reduction while improving both dynamic and continues output power. Combined with the vastly increased current capabilities of the amplifier output stage, it makes this amplifier able to drive practically any load.
The Mola Mola Ossetra is a full-bridge power amplifier design, the full-bridge output makes the amplifier design fully balanced from input to output. For the Mola Mola Ossetra we designed all new discrete class A gain stages. Using these new gain stages enabled us to revise the gain structure of the entire amplifier. This results in exemplary noise and distortion performance of the complete system.
The amplifier bandwidth of over 100kHz, keeps the frequency response absolutely flat within the audio band. The minimal load dependency establishes absolute consistency, irrespective of loudspeaker load. The input stage distortion is below our current measurement threshold at approximately -150dB (~0,000003%), ensuring an immaculate power stage performance.
Power supply
Meeting EMI regulations is of course mandatory for electronics equipment. For products with high-end aspirations meeting these regulations is far from sufficient. We set the limits far tighter! With the new power supply this received even more attention, which enabled us to make another step. Next to a significant noise reduction we were able to improve on both dynamic and continues output power. Combined with the vastly increased current capabilities of the amplifier output stage it makes this amplifier able to drive practically any load.
Directly related to the main power supply behavior, is the choice to go for a full-bridge power amplifier design. A full-bridge amplifier is a friendlier and easier load on the power supply, relieving it from some secondary tasks, and making the design less complex. The full-bridge output now essentially makes the amplifier design fully balanced from input to output.
Modulator and feedback system
For the Ossetra we designed all new discrete class “A” gain stages, which create most of the gain needed in this high feedback amplifier design. These gain stages are designed to have high open loop bandwidth, individually tailored to their specific tasks in the loop filter. With these new gain stages we have been able to change the gain structure of the entire amplifier without any ill effects. Thus allowing us to optimize noise and distortion performance of the complete system. The resulting amount of feedback around the power stage is where the real difference is.
Input stage
For the input stage we have also designed new discrete class “A” amplification. The gain stages share some basics with the gain stages further up the signal path, but an input stage has additional requirements. The main tasks for this input stage are to create a high impedance input for the source or preamp, add gain and ensure no DC, or, other signal unrelated noise, enters the power stage.
Our input stages are DC coupled, meaning no capacitors in the signal path which can degrade the sound. In the new input stage we have chosen a similar technique as used in our Makua preamplifier. Here minor DC offsets are corrected and at higher levels a capacitor is placed in the signal path. This is to ensure compatibility with third party products which might not handle this properly further upstream.
New shunt voltage regulators are also used in this input stage. These shunt regulators take noise rejection and output impedance to a new level without the need of cascading multiple regulators. Shunt regulators draw constant current from the power supply, this current can go directly to the load when it is needed, or, dissipated in the shunt when the load does not need it. With the shunt located close to the load, this keeps all AC currents local. The wide bandwidth design ensures behavior of the regulator is constant throughout the entire audio band, making sure it adds as little of its own characteristics as possible.

The Vivid Audio Giya Cu retains the iconic looks of the Giya series in an updated (modernized) enclosure which is lighter, stiffer and smoother. In the Giya G3 Cu and Giya G4 Cu models the tapered tubes are now contained within the main enclosure through the use of re-entrant absorbers resulting in a simpler line in keeping with that of Giya G2 and Giya G1 Spirit. The Vivid Audio Giya Cu range incorporates copper-capped upper and lower midrange drivers which were first developed for our flagship Vivid Audio Moya M1. While the use of radially polarized magnet systems in all Vivid products has long been recognized as an effective means of delivering exceptionally low-distortion uncompressed sound, the addition of the copper caps to our in-house produced drivers lowers the 2nd and 3rd harmonic distortion, the latter by a very significant 20 dB, resulting in not only a more palpable soundstage and overall cleaner midrange, but also a subjective improvement in the bass response.
Technical Audio Devices Laboratories, Inc., today announced the TAD-E1AX floor-standing speaker system, representing the latest addition to its Evolution Series of speakers and succeeding the critically acclaimed TAD-E1TX model introduced in 2018.
The TAD-E1AX incorporates a range of enhancements to achieve superior audio performance. The upgraded CST (Coherent Source Transducer) driver features a tweeter with a beryllium diaphragm manufactured using our proprietary vapor deposition technique. This tweeter was previously found in the TAD-ME1TX bookshelf speaker system, which was earlier in 2025. Furthermore, the refined CST driver features an improved midrange with an anodized, coated diaphragm. Structurally, the Acoustic-Filter-Assisted System Tuning (AFAST) mitigates the low-order standing-wave modes in the enclosure, while the Bidirectional ADP (Aero-Dynamic Port) System contributes to the reproduction of rich bass.
Main Features
1) 9 cm CST driver delivers ideal single-point-source sound
The TAD-E1AX incorporates TAD’s proprietary CST driver, which precisely controls the directivity of the concentrically mounted midrange and tweeter across a broad frequency range from the point of matching phase. The 9 cm CST driver delivers clear and solid imaging, as well as natural sound-field reproduction. The midrange cone controls the directional characteristic of the concentrically mounted tweeter to align the phase and directivity of their output in the crossover region. As a result, the CST driver alone achieves wide-range sound reproduction from 420 Hz to 60 kHz, while simultaneously exhibiting a consistent attenuation characteristic and directivity pattern across all frequencies.
2) Tweeter features a 25 mm beryllium diaphragm
The TAD-E1AX employs a lightweight yet rigid 25 mm beryllium diaphragm for its tweeter, manufactured using our proprietary vapor deposition technique. We have applied our computer-analyzed optimization technique, known as Harmonized Synthetic Diaphragm Optimum Method (HSDOM), in the design of the diaphragm’s shape. This technique allows for precise control of the diaphragm’s divided vibrations and piston motions, enabling wide-range sound reproduction of up to 60 kHz.
3) Midrange features a magnesium diaphragm with a high internal-loss characteristic
The midrange diaphragm, crafted from magnesium alloy, exhibits exceptional lightweight and high internal-loss properties. The combination of anodization and coating applied to its surface enhances its hardness and internal loss further. Concurrently, the suppression of even the slightest resonance originating from the connection point of the leading wire to the voice coil ensures distortion-free sound reproduction in the midrange. Furthermore, the arm of the frame basket housing the magnetic circuit has undergone a redesign to achieve significantly enhanced structural strength and facilitate the smoother propagation of sound waves behind the midrange diaphragm.
4) Woofer features an MACC diaphragm
The dual 16 cm woofers employ a Multi-layered Aramid Composite Cone (MACC) diaphragm, comprising laminated layers of woven aramid fabric and non-woven fabric of different material. This design enables the woofers to deliver a rich, clear sound in the low-frequency-range, while simultaneously providing coloration-free sound in the mid-to-low-frequency range. The combination of the refined Linear Drive Magnet Circuit (LDMC) and a corrugated surround made from foamed polycarbonate contributes to exceptional linearity and delivers deep and articulate bass. Furthermore, the woofer basket’s arm has been redesigned to enhance structural strength, enabling it to withstand the powerful movement of the woofer and facilitating smoother sound-wave propagation behind its diaphragm.
5) SILENT enclosure combines strength with an outstanding vibration-dampening characteristic
The TAD-E1AX is housed in a SILENT (Structurally Inert Laminated Enclosure Technology) enclosure, which integrates sturdy birch-plywood braces with medium-density fiberboard (MDF) panels characterized by a high internal loss. This combination imparts exceptional strength and an outstanding vibration-dampening characteristic. Moreover, our ingenuous Acoustic-Filter-Assisted System Tuning (AFAST) effectively mitigates the presence of low-order standing-wave modes inside the enclosure. Concurrently, the strategic placement of carefully selected acoustic absorbent inside the enclosure further suppresses standing waves that could adversely affect the speaker’s sound field and imaging performance.
6) Bidirectional ADP System ensures rich, natural bass
The Bidirectional ADP (Aero-Dynamic Port) System positions a port at the base of the enclosure, with its openings facing the front and rear. The port features a horn-shaped interior that reduces port noise and achieves greater efficiency in driving the port, resulting in clear and responsive sound in the mid-to-low frequency range. The combination of the port flare crafted from die-cast aluminum and the symmetrical front-back layout effectively counteracts the physical force that vibrates the enclosure, thereby contributing to the reproduction of powerful bass. Moreover, the 10 mm-thick steel base plate attached to the enclosure’s bottom enhanced its stability when placed on the floor, counterbalancing the reaction caused by the powerful driving force of the twin woofers.
7) Two color variants to choose from to match room decor
The TAD-E1AX is available in two color variants to cater to room decor preferences. In addition to the black finish (K), which was offered to its predecessor, the TAD-E1AX is also available in a new glossy white finish (GW). Skilled artisans meticulously complete each enclosure, beginning with the application of high-grade, clear coating to the surface and the buffing of the base coating, and finishing with surface polishing. The TAD-E1AX comes standard with non-slip pads for secure placement, a cleaning cloth, and woofer grilles designed to minimize adverse effects on speaker performance.

To Virgil, McIntosh was more than a product and more than a brand. McIntosh audio products anchored the soundscape of his Louis Vuitton design studio. The system wasn’t just for background sound; it was part of the atmosphere that fueled his creative output. It’s easy to imagine iconic Virgil Abloh pieces taking shape as music flowed through the studio, our blue meters pulsating and vacuum tubes glowing in harmony with the rhythms of his design process, together inspiring ideas that moved across studios, runways, and galleries.
McIntosh x Virgil Abloh – MA8950 Integrated Amplifier Concept
In 2020, Virgil imagined a special series of McIntosh pieces to amplify his mission and share it with the world. The pandemic delayed those conversations, and tragically, Virgil passed away in 2021 after a battle with cancer. But we are now proud to present one of Virgil’s singular pieces: the McIntosh x Virgil Abloh – MA8950 Integrated Amplifier Concept.
It is an unapologetic tribute to Virgil and everyone like him that is bold enough to shape culture and to use music to inspire and create lasting ideas. Finished in vibrant orange, a color Virgil used as a signal of energy, visibility, and disruption, this one-of-one amplifier transforms the classic McIntosh black-and-silver aesthetic into a design statement through Virgil’s lens.
Unveiled on September 30, on what would have been Virgil’s 45th birthday, at “Virgil Abloh: The Codes” at the Grand Palais in Paris, the piece is both homage and evolution. Created with the Virgil Abloh Archive™, it reflects a shared belief: that sound and design are cultural languages.

Discover our quietest, lowest vibration Transport to date
The Varèse Music System now includes a dedicated CD/SACD Transport, for listeners who wish to experience the best possible sound from their silver discs
The Varèse Music System is our most ambitious creation to date. It is the culmination of six years intensive development – a series of projects undertaken to explore how we could further improve audio performance, whilst at the same time creating an even more immersive playback experience.
The system launched with five components – Core, User Interface, dual Mono DACs, and Master Clock – plus the Varèse Remote and Mosaic ACTUS app. We have now added a dedicated CD/SACD Transport, available from September 2025.
The Varèse Transport builds on our long heritage of developing dedicated components for CD and SACD playback. Its design reflects our overarching ambition with Varèse – to further advance the state-of-the-art, whilst also simplifying system setup and use – and it’s a product we are thrilled to share.
Supporting CD Playback
dCS has been making CD & SACD transports since 2000. Our first, the Verdi, launched at a time when CDs were ubiquitous and the preferred mode of listening for a large portion of music lovers. New technologies have of course emerged, and there are now a multitude of ways to access digital music, but we know there are many listeners worldwide who still enjoy playing CDs and Super Audio CDs in their native format. We also know that many CD and SACD owners have amassed large collections of recordings that are not currently available in any other format.
We believe these listeners should be able to experience the best possible sound from their silver discs, and so we have continued to invest in developing dedicated transports, and exploring how we can improve CD and SACD playback, at the same time as supporting music streaming and playback from a wealth of other digital sources.
When developing products, our goal is always to deliver ‘Only the Music’ – reducing the factors that can affect audio performance such as noise, distortion and vibration to the lowest possible levels, whilst ensuring all aspects of the audio signal are preserved.
The same is true of our transports. We’ve taken extensive measures to reduce noise and vibration and ensure that listeners are able to hear the full range of musical information contained on their CDs and SACDs. This involves paying close attention to all aspects of mechanical and electronic design, selecting the most robust and stable mechanisms, and ensuring that electronics and mechanisms within our Transports are fed with the cleanest possible voltages for optimal performance, among other factors. As our technologies have evolved, we’ve continued to push Transport design, making improvements to software, hardware and chassis constructions so that we can further enhance people’s listening experience.
Varèse Transport: New Features & Innovations
The Varèse Transport continues this tradition. It is the quietest, lowest vibration dCS Transport to date, benefitting from an all-new chassis design, and the use of our bespoke ACTUS interface.
The Transport plays Redbook CDs in their native 44.1kS/s format, and SACDs in their native DSD format. It connects to the Varèse Core via dCS ACTUS, with a single cable running from the Varèse Core to the Transport. This allows for bit perfect transmission of audio signals, with asynchronous audio, control and timing signals all sent via the ACTUS interface.
This configuration has enabled simpler setup and enhanced control. The Varèse Transport automatically syncs to a master clock signal via ACTUS (provided by the Varèse Clock, if present, or the Varèse Core if no clock is connected), removing the need for listeners to manually configure sync mode settings. The Transport can be connected via the Varèse User Interface, Varèse Remote Control, or Mosaic ACTUS app – giving listeners more ways to control Transport playback.
In its mechanical design and styling, the Varèse Transport matches the rest of the Varèse range, drawing on insights gained from extensive research to explore how we could further improve chassis design. The top, sides and front of the chassis are machined from a single piece of billet aluminium – an approach also seen in the Varèse Clock, Core and Mono DACS – with constrained layer damping between the chassis base and dress plates. Mechanism mounts are also milled from a single piece of aluminium, with no joins or fixings – all features devised to aid performance.
The Transport utilises the same mechanism seen in the Vivaldi Transport II and Rossini Transport, but this has been mounted with a new method that further reduces noise and physical vibrations.

TAD-A1000-S(シルバー) 3,080,000 YEN (税込) TAD-A1000-K(ブラック) 3,135,000 YEN (税込)
Technical Audio Devices Laboratories, Inc., today announced the TAD-A1000 integrated amplifier as the latest addition to its Evolution Series of hi-fi audio components. The TAD-A1000 also represents the inaugural TAD-branded integrated amplifier.
In the design of the TAD-A1000, we have integrated our proven amplifier technologies—including current-feedback amplification and resistance-ladder electronic volume control for preamplifiers, and a class-D analog amplification platform for power amplifiers—into a single unit. The TAD-A1000 harmoniously complements TAD’s Evolution Series speaker systems, delivering powerful and articulate sound, a hallmark of TAD’s tradition.
Main Features
1) Ultimate symmetry in circuitry and layout
The precise alignment of positive and negative currents that go through a speaker unit’s voice coils is paramount for driving its diaphragm with unparalleled accuracy. To achieve this, the TAD-A1000 employs a bridge-tied load (BTL) design that connects two distinct amplifiers in a balanced configuration for the left and right channels, spanning the input through output stages. This design ensures absolute symmetry between positive and negative power supplies. Furthermore, transformer coils, as well as rectifying, smoothing, and stabilizing circuits, are provided separately for each channel. This configuration achieves symmetry between the two channels in the circuit board layout and pattern—and even in wiring length. Our meticulous efforts to attain ultimate symmetry between left and right channels and between positive and negative signals extend further. The TAD-A1000 enhances its performance by incorporating separate grounding points for its pre- and power amplification stages.
2) High-capacity transformers with greater purity and efficiency
The TAD-A1000’s power supply is supported by a high-capacity toroidal transformer coupled with a linear regulator. To enhance the purity of the power supply, the internal coils of the transformer are directly connected to the power supply circuit, thereby minimizing their contact points with leading wires. Furthermore, terminals for directly connected coils, mounting terminals for circuit boards, and clamping screws are all fabricated from pure copper and coated with nonmagnetic materials to eliminate even the slightest magnetic distortions. The cross-sectional design of the transformer core was crafted into a circular shape, which improves the contact between the core and coils, thereby minimizing unwanted leakage magnetic flux and vibrations. This transformer provides power to the power amplifier, preamplifier, and control circuits, resulting in a robust power supply characterized by enhanced purity and responsiveness, which contributes to the exceptionally accurate driving of speaker diaphragms.
3) Immaculate preamplification circuit
The TAD-A1000’s flat amplifier in the preamplification stage features a high-performance, single-stage current-feedback amplifier, initially developed for Reference Series preamplifiers. To optimize signal complementarity, we evaluated the performance characteristics of each FET device and selected matching pairs for positive and negative elements in the TAD-A1000. This attention to detail has substantially enhanced the stability of its preamplification circuit.
The TAD-A1000’s volume knob exudes an exquisite aesthetic and tactile experience. Its installation atop high-precision ball bearings ensures an exceptionally smooth rotation. The center-mounted design embodies the symmetrical layout of the internal circuits, conferring upon the TAD-A1000 a refined, elegant appearance in the tradition of the Evolution Series of high-fidelity components.
5) Elaborate vibration-control design
The TAD-A1000’s preamplification stage, power amplification stage, transformer, and control circuit are physically separated into four distinct chambers within the case. This four-chambered internal construction effectively shields the entire unit against external vibrations and provides a robust and stable ground potential. Notably, its power supply section is mechanically and electrically shielded to minimize noise and enhance signal purity. The TAD-A1000’s sturdy body is supported by three feet, each equipped with an internally inverted spike. This design physically isolates the chassis from external vibrations transmitted through the floor. The minimal contact between the TAD-A1000 and the surface prevents external vibrations from affecting internal circuits and components. This comprehensive vibration-control design enables more condensed and energetic audio reproduction, preserving the spatial nuances of the music. The rear panel features heavy-duty, extra-large speaker terminals, similar to those found in the Reference Series power amplifiers. These terminals reduce mechanical and electrical stress on connected speaker cables, enhancing their stability and optimizing their performance.
6) TAD’s custom-made parts and components
We have incorporated a variety of our custom-made components and parts into the design of the TAD-A1000 to elevate its audio quality to unprecedented heights. TAD’s custom-designed electronic volume control features ladder-resistant switching, delivering exceptionally precise attenuation performance and a ultra-low distortion of less than 0.0005% at 1 Vrms input. Nonmagnetic capacitors and resistors are employed in the audio circuit to minimize magnetic effects. To prevent magnetic distortions from compromising sound quality, gold-plated OFC leading wires without nickel base-plating are utilized for resistors and low-distortion film capacitors that handle all- critical analog audio signals. Furthermore, chip resistors with nonmagnetic electrodes reduce current loops. Additionally, four large-capacity 33,000㎌electrolytic smoothing capacitors are employed in the power amplification stage. These capacitors are of TAD’s proprietary design, developed through rigorous testing and listening evaluations.
