The HIGH END 2025, the leading international audio show, is pleased to announce the gifted Norwegian singer Anette Askvik as brand ambassador. The multi-talented exceptional artist will be the face of the renowned specialist show, which will take place from 15 to 18 May 2025 in the MOC in Munich and once again bring together professionals from across the audio industry on those four days.
>Following a revamped campaign in 2024, the organizer is building on the successful series, where prominent celebrities from the music scene underscore the mission of the HIGH END show. “We made a conscious decision in 2024 to forgo a testimonial. We used the break to reflect upon our concept and to become inspired by some fresh new ideas”, says Stefan Dreischärf, Managing Director of the organizer HIGH END SOCIETY Service GmbH. “We are proud to have enlisted Anette Askvik as our brand ambassador and now look forward to continuing the series with her”, Dreischärf adds. “Her art, which she infuses with emotional depth and technical precision, perfectly reflects our values. She stands for the passion with which we seek to promote audio technology, and which she expresses in her music.”
Anette Askvik is renowned for her hypnotic music, taking her listeners along on an emotional journey. Her powerful voice and soulful compositions are a unique amalgam of fragility and strength. The Norwegian artist is in fact much more than a singer. She writes her own songs, produces them, and has her own record label, “Bird”. With albums like Liberty, Multiverse, With every cell and most recently Lyden Av Snø, she has achieved international acclaim. Her new album, representing a poetic winter landscape put to music, is yet another masterpiece of Scandinavian sound excellence. Recorded with utmost precision, it is available on vinyl as well as in high-resolution digital format and CD.
Anette Askvik was born in Stavanger, and today she lives with her family in Oslo. She finds her inspiration in nature – a recurring motif throughout her works. “Nature is powerful, awe-inspiring and stunningly beautiful – just like music”, she says, describing her love for the elements. Her recordings set new benchmarks in sound quality. Her debut album in particular, Liberty is frequently used for the presentation of exclusive audio systems. As the ambassador of the HIGH END 2025, she will be demonstrating the interplay between musical expression and technological excellence. “I am really looking forward to being part of the HIGH END 2025”, says Anette Askvik. “Music connects us in ways that words often do not. I’m thrilled to share this passion with an audience that thoroughly appreciates audiophile perfection as much as I do.” In a studio arranged especially for the occasion and in cooperation with Kii Audio, she will be showcasing some of her impressive pieces in immersive sound reproduction. The visitors can look forward to exclusive close-up encounters with the artist. The schedules of the performances will be released well in time before the event.
The Norwegian singer is already the second artist from a Scandinavian country that the organizers were able to enlist for the HIGH END show. She walks in the famous footsteps of Kari Bremnes, who in 2018 embodied the symbiosis of high-end music and brilliant sound.
The HIGH END 2025 promises to become the highlight for the entire audio industry this year as well. Whether it be trade visitors, representatives of the media, technology enthusiasts, audiophiles or music lovers – everyone is warmly invited to discover the impressive diversity of the world’s largest audio show and to become fully immersed in each thrilling moment.
Lorenzo Audio Labs is proud to introduce its new LM6 speaker model.
Lorenzo LM6: Truly Special
The Lorenzo Audio Labs LM6 represents the Spanish manufacturer’s first design of a fully sealed speaker.
Some enthusiasts prefer speakers that interact less with their listening environment, that are more versatile in terms of placement in any listening room, and can be placed close to walls without causing a problem.
There are also enthusiasts who prefer more controlled and precise low frequencies, qualities characteristic of sealed speakers. We have designed the Lorenzo LM6 for all of them.
But the LM6 is also truly special for other important reasons. We are referring to the use of a dual-concentric midrange/woofer driver that has an Alnico magnet and a paper cone. The coherence, temporal alignment and tonal richness of this driver is wonderful, and its synergy with our AMT tweeter and its custom-made horn is incredible.
We promise that its sound will not leave you indifferent. Its high sensitivity and full-range performance make it ideal for nighttime listening at low volume, allowing you to enjoy seductive low frequencies.
Place them wherever you want, enjoy them at any volume and move them with any amplification with more or less power. The LM6 is designed to offer the greatest possible musical enjoyment.

Hegel has been perfecting the art of DAC design for more than two decades, and the D50 represents the pinnacle of that expertise. At its core lies the latest model DAC chip – a sophisticated tool with immense potential. But like the raven, one of the few animals capable of using tools with precision, the D50’s genius lies in how it wields this technology. Every detail of the circuit design and layout has been meticulously crafted to extract the full potential of the DAC chip, transforming it from a mere component into a masterful instrument. The result is a design that uses this tool to its fullest, unlocking extraordinary sound reproduction.
The D50 takes extraordinary measures to ensure the purity of its sound reproduction. Its power management is designed to silence noise and deliver clean energy to every part of the device. Advanced filters on the power input eliminate noise from the mains, and when connected to a grounded power outlet, this filtering can even enhance the performance of other equipment in the same circuit. To eliminate electrical noise even further, the D50 employs two low-noise toroidal transformers. One delivers power to the noisier digital processes and standby functionality while the other is dedicated to the sensitive analog and digital components. Both transformers are shielded by thick steel and placed far from any sensitive electronics and their output is also filtered, ensuring the D50 operates with the purest power, allowing its performance to take flight.
At Hegel, we approach circuit board design with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the best possible performance. In the D50, even the routing features rounded corners to minimize impedance drops and reduce radiation, reflecting our commitment to precision. However, the real innovation lies in how the D50 processes incoming digital signals before converting them to analog. The AES/EBU input features a unique RS422 receiver balanced by a transformer, allowing it to handle both weak and strong signals flawlessly, free of jitter and time delays.
For SPDIF-based inputs, signals are received on a custom-designed card that unpacks the I2S data. While this process is inherently noisy and prone to timing errors, the D50 addresses these issues with precision. The decoded signals are reclocked using three dedicated master clocks: one for SPDIF signals, and for USB, separate master clocks for 48k and 44.1k sample rates. Strategically placed to minimize noise, these clocks deliver a perfectly timed signal to the DAC chip, enabling the purest and most accurate digital-to-analog conversion.
The DAC chip itself is thoughtfully perched on a separate board above the rest of the electronics. This elevated placement reduces noise and interference while providing short and unobstructed signal paths. With the D50, every aspect of the design has been carefully engineered to ensure that the signal remains as true to the original as possible. The result is an unaltered and breathtakingly accurate translation from digital to analog.
The D50’s construction is as solid as it is purposeful. Its aluminium housing provides both durability and a refined appearance and improves sound performance. Premium connectors ensure reliable performance, while aluminium feet with rubber soles guarantee stability. The thick, milled aluminium front plate conceals the buttons for an unbroken, elegant facade. Meanwhile, a bright, easy-to-read display delivers all the information you need without drawing attention away from the music.
Though the D50 operates with the precision of a masterful instrument, using it is effortless. Its advanced input sensing can detect a digital signal and wake the device automatically. You can customize how it responds to new signals, whether to switch inputs or simply power on. Features like automatic standby save energy when the music stops, while a display dimming option keeps the focus where it belongs – on the music. Once set up, the D50 becomes a seamless part of your system, ready to bring your music to life with no distractions.
The D50 offers every connection you might need, accommodating USB, optical, coaxial RCA, coaxial BNC, and AES/EBU inputs. On the output side, it features true balanced analog and single-ended RCA connections, giving you the flexibility to suit any system. The D50’s versatile inputs and outputs make it a perfect fit for any audio environment.
In Norse mythology, the ravens Hugin and Munin brought Odin unparalleled insights, revealing the world’s hidden truths. Inspired by their precision and clarity, the D50 deciphers the complexities of digital audio with absolute precision. Its innovative design transforms raw data into music that is rich in detail, free from noise, and true to the original recording. No detail is added or lost – just the purest, most accurate reproduction of sound.
The Hegel D50 DAC represents the pinnacle of digital-to-analog conversion, delivering music as it was meant to be heard – pure, detailed, and profoundly moving. Let it take your music to new heights.

Founded in 1932, Wharfedale’s founder, Gilbert Briggs, had one goal in mind – to bring music into the home by designing loudspeakers that conveyed the impact, thrill and emotion of performance in an entirely natural and realistic way.
Thus he created the first true Hi-Fi experience for connoisseurs of music in the home and continued to introduce technology that would enhance the listening experience – like the first commercial crossover, foam surrounds and the slot port system.
Today Wharfedale engineers follow the same dictum, utilising technology where it truly matters to develop loudspeakers that reveal the passion and excitement behind the musical performance.
We believe that a connoisseur of sound would find the merest flow intolerable, and with a connoisseur in mind, we have built the ‘ASTON’. If you are such a listener, you will recognise the significance of – and then insist on possessing – the control performance and sheer quality reflected in this fine speaker.
Manufactured by highly trained, vastly experienced loudspeaker experts at the headquarters of Wharfedale, in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire – ASTON is built in the home of British Hi-Fi.
Made in the UK
The Wharfedale ASTON exemplifies Wharfedale’s legacy in fine loudspeaker design and manufacturing; balancing fine craftsmanship and natural sound quality. Designed by Wharfedale’s Director of Acoustic Design, Peter Comeau, ASTON has been developed as a ‘Signature’ model for the Wharfedale ‘Made in UK’ Heritage seres, and is limited edition of a mere 500 pairs!
A compact stand-mount loudspeaker, the ASTON achieves standards of control and performance associated with far more complex and imposing designs. From the bottom up, ASTON has been engineered to offer something above the ordinary. Designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK, ASTON is a traditional two- way vented-box model, that exemplifies the values, characteristics and musical delivery that Wharfedale is famous for.
A New Classic
Its wood-veneered cabinet has a vintage look, yet the standard of finish is distinctly contemporary – a tribute to the skilled craftsmanship required for the production of such a loudspeaker. Fusing established methodology with modern technology, ASTON may be classic in style but it is truly up to date in terms of performance and technology. Every part of the speaker, from the cabinet to the grille, has been designed and chosen to exemplify the standards that help make Wharfedale Britain’s most famous loudspeakers.
Two-way to Perfection
The ASTON sees the implementation of a brand-new Carbon Fibre bass/midrange cone, a first in the Wharfedale Heritage series. Developed from the basis of a long history of award-winning transducer designs, the ASTON bass/midrange driver is mounted in a rigid, cast chassis, The high-performance motor system minimises energy losses in the cone transfer mechanism and the cone itself is complemented by a new profiled phase plug, for super smooth and natural-sounding upper mid-range.
Listening Makes Perfect
The high frequency performance is handled by a new soft dome tweeter, designed in synergy with the bass/midrange driver. Via advanced computer modelling and thousands of ears of listening tests, the ASTON crossover ties the tweeter and Carbon Fibre bass/midrange driver together for a superlative level of music reproduction.
Furniture grade in finish and construction, the ASTON cabinet is formed from layers of differing woods. Via a series of complex tests, analysis and computer modelling, the multi-layer cabinet design complements the real-world performance of the featured transducers. With this resonance control and air pressure management – by way of dual rear ports – the Wharfedale ASTON is capable of high sound pressure levels and clean bass extension down to below 50Hz, in-room.
ASTONishing for a speaker of this size, Wharfedale ASTON offers a broad, even dispersion without colouration and it presents an almost holographic representation of the recording which leaves you in no doubt that you are in the presence of a truly great loudspeaker system.
Styled like a legendary speaker of yesteryear, the Wharfedale ASTON is finished in a rich, hand-matched, real-wood veneer with gold accents and a Wharfedale Heritage trim.
Making a Stand
The matching ASTON stand is also made in England, from hardened high-carbon British Steel. Presenting the ASTON loudspeaker with elegance and delicacy, the stand is custom engineered for the optimum listening experience. Matching the furniture-grade cabinets, the ASTON stand is finished with a classy touch in the form of a luxurious glass insert, for arguably the most attractive loudspeaker and plinth combination.
