Summit Ama: Clarity in Compact Form

Derived from Ama Dablam, one of the Himalayas’ most iconic and picturesque peaks whose name means “Mother’s Necklace,” the Summit Ama is a compact masterpiece designed to reveal the heart of the music. This 2-way stand-mount loudspeaker pairs an 8-inch HC4 cone woofer with a D2 compression driver and HDI™ horn to deliver exceptional clarity, control, and coherence across the frequency spectrum. The Summit Ama’s elegant cabinet rests on a matching steel-and-aluminum stand.

Materials

Sabrina V pioneers a groundbreaking addition to the Wilson Audio materials library: H-Material. Developed as a high-density composite with organic and phenolic properties, this front baffle advancement sets a new benchmark in performance engineering. H-Material is similar to X-Material in inflexibility, yet slightly softer with different construction, which lends itself to be more musical in the mid-range than SabrinaX with its use of X-Material as a baffle substrate

Drivers

At the heart of the Sabrina V lies a symphony of advanced driver technologies shared with Wilson Audio’s most celebrated flagships. The Convergent Synergy Carbon (CSC) tweeter, originally developed for the Alexx V, delivers an astonishingly natural high-frequency response. This lightly coated textile dome tweeter seamlessly blends with the AlNiCo mid-range and 8-inch woofer. The CSC offers extended linearity, refined harmonic detail, and a natural sense of acoustic space.

Wilson Audio has integrated its beloved 7-inch AlNiCo (Aluminum – Nickel – Cobalt) QuadraMag mid-range driver into its smallest floorstanding loudspeaker, the Sabrina V. Originally, it was developed for the Chronosonic XVX and utilized in the Alexx V, Alexia V, Sasha V, and The WATT/Puppy. The AlNiCo QuadraMag driver is renowned for its exceptional ability to settle and maintain linearity resulting in greater depth and dimensionality.

The same 8” woofer used in the Sasha V and The WATT/Puppy anchors the low frequencies and foundation of the Sabrina V system. This driver is specifically chosen for its agility and authority resulting in bass that is articulate, textured, and intimately tied to the rhythm of the music.

Hardware & Resistor Access

Refining the rear bass port dimensions and the mid-range vent geometry has revealed deeper, more natural low frequencies while filling your room with warmth and soundstage dimension.

New rear-panel resistor access simplifies service and tuning— a welcome shift from the previous Sabrina bottom-mount approach. Resistors are secured with high quality tool-less thumbscrews, which makes tweeter and mid-range resistor changes swift and intuitive. This new access point on the back of the enclosure is accentuated with a beautifully machined aluminum frame with the Sabrina V logo.

V-MCD

Taking a page from the Wilson Audio Acoustic Diode design, V-Material has been nested and integrated into the bottom of the Sabrina V enclosure where the spike diode interfaces. This upgraded isolation technology (V-MCD) and enhanced vibration control provide an even quieter background, letting your favorite recordings unfold effortlessly. This is music reproduction at its finest — it feels deeper and more alive. If there are room related issues with vibration management, Sabrina V’s spike thread size enables an easy and direct upgrade path to Wilson Audio Acoustic Diodes if one wishes to further enhance the isolation in their system.

COLTRANE SUPREME EXTREME

Coltrane Supreme Extreme is the most advanced loudspeaker we have ever created. With its dual-tower and bespoke drivers, it delivers outstanding resolution and dynamic power. It features the largest beryllium midrange ever created, Crystalid mid-bass units, and a carbon fibre monocoque cabinet strengthened by solid wood and aluminium. Each pair takes over 800 hours to build, complete with Jorma Paragon cabling and custom Marten terminals. Standing over two meters tall, each Gemini speaker houses a precisely arranged seven-driver symmetrical array supported by a custom-designed sub-bass driver.

Our revolutionary lattice tweeter is supported by 15cm midrange, 18cm mid and 26cm bass drivers, each as a pair above and below the tweeter. Simulation and listening showed the extraordinary advantages of a carefully designed symmetrical arrangement like this. The Gemini cabinet showcases our obsessive attention to detail. Constructed from three layers of specially selected aluminium alloy, each separated by precision-engineered damping materials, it achieves extraordinary rigidity and resonance control. The front faceplates are machined from solid, aerospace-grade aluminium, heat-treated to optimize their crystalline structure, then precisely milled to tolerances of a thousandth of a millimeter. Internally, advanced bracing and strategically placed diffusers/absorbers eliminate unwanted reflections, allowing the drivers to perform flawlessly.

Our crossover design is a true testament to the art and science of speaker engineering. Utilizing the very best components available, it is built on a bespoke multilayer PCB material with advanced dielectric properties and internal resonance damping. Each crossover circuit is precisely milled in-house from extra-thick, high-purity copper, with traces optimised through simulation to eliminate interference and distortion. The crossover itself is housed externally, in an elegant enclosure crafted entirely from a specially selected polymer material, which eliminates any field interactions with the crossover signal.

New SABRE® ADCs Redefine Standards in High-Resolution Analog-to-Digital Conversion

May 12^th, 2025 – San Jose, California – ESS Technology, Inc., the industry leader in high-performance audio semiconductors, today unveiled three new flagship SABRE® PRO SMART Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) based on ESS’s patented Hyperstream® IV ADC architecture that set a new standard for performance in both professional and consumer audio applications.

The new ES9823MPRO and ES9823PRO are advanced 2-channel SMART ADCs offering class-leading audio performance with a dynamic range (DNR) of +128 dB and a total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) of -117 dB. This represents the highest per-channel specification currently available in the industry, with an impressive +130 dB DNR in mono mode.

Joining them is the ES9843PRO, a 4-channel SMART ADC delivering exceptional fidelity with a DNR of +125 dB and -116 dB THD+N per channel in 4-channel mode.

All three new SABRE® PRO ADCs are powered by ESS’s second-generation Audio Signal Processor (ASP2), providing unparalleled integration capabilities. ASP2 supports custom audio processing including multi-band parametric EQs, mixers, stereo widening, audio expansion and compression, RIAA pre-emphasis, crossover filters, dynamic range compression (DRC), automatic gain leveling (AGL), and more. This integration minimizes or eliminates the need for external DSPs, streamlining design, reducing software complexity, and lowering bill-of-material (BOM) costs.

To further simplify development, the new ADCs are compatible with ESS’s Sabre Intelligence Studio (SI Studio), a user-friendly programming interface that accelerates design flow and shortens time-to-market.

The ES9823MPRO is also the first ADC in the world to integrate FOQUS by MQA Labs® —a revolutionary decimation filter with a minimum-phase response engineered to stay below human perceptual thresholds. Its single dithered quantization step and low-complexity architecture make FOQUS the most transparent decimation technology available today.

All three devices support a comprehensive set of digital output formats, including S/PDIF encoding, I²S master/slave, TDM, PDM, DSD, DoP, and RAW. They also feature PDM microphone input support and built-in digital filtering with pre-programmed and customizable filter coefficients, including DC blocking options. Interfaces include both I²C and SPI, with a master SPI port to connect an external FLASH device for rapid ASP2 configuration.

Using two ES9823(M)PRO devices in ESS Proprietary multi-chip mixing configuration, designers can achieve dynamic range performance exceeding 136dB.

The new devices are drop-in compatible with previous flagship models—ES9822PRO and ES9842PRO—and are available in a compact, low-pin-count 5×5 mm 40-pin QFN package.

It is the beginning of a new era at Core Audio. From 15-18 May in Munich we will present our latest development, the DAIDIO REFERENCE music server, to the public for the first time.

After several prototypes and several years of development, the device is finally ready and we believe it will show the public some outstanding improvements in many aspects. After more than 10 years of music server development, even we have our surprises, and this time they were very positive. In fact, we believe that the role of digital source devices is to reproduce music as realistically as possible, and just as you peel the layers off an onion, you need the right tool to fully express the musical product. We feel that we have now reached a major milestone for us. We have laid the foundations with DAIDO Premium, which we launched last year in 2024, and will now be followed in 2025 by the first member of the REFERENCE family, the big brother.

Which we think is the most important new feature, apart from the many, many little things:
– 3-level CNC-milled aluminium housing (separated space for transformers)
– 7″ touchscreen (with full Audirvana support, with the option to boot with album artwork)
– PC PSU 2.0 featuring 180F capacitors, providing huge, sub-layered dynamic bass and noise-free power supply (0.5uV)
