Simaudio Ltd. proudly introduces the MOONNeo series. Pronounced “knee-o”, every aspect of this new series was conceived to remind people of our flagship Evolution series, but at a fraction of the price. Using aesthetics from the much more expensive Evolution series, the Neoseriesmodelsincorporate a variety of circuit enhancements to noticeably improve sound quality. Neois destined to give customers many years of musical enjoyment and complete satisfaction.
Neo takes the place of most models previously available in the MOON series. Existing MOON series model numbers will not change. However, the new ones will be identified with the word “Neo”. Beginning with six models, this series will grow in the very near future.

Nēo, pronounced “knee-o”, comes from the ancient Greek word meaning “new” denoting this exciting range of MOON products. Borrowing heavily from the Evolution Series’ aesthetics, Nēo incorporates numerous circuit enhancements to noticeably improve sound quality. Every aspect of the Nēo Series is designed to remind you of the much-more-expensive Evolution Series, but at a fraction of the price.
Nēo = A fusion of lifestyle and technology Nēo takes the place of most models previously available in the MOON range, while setting a new standard for performance, build quality, and appearance for affordable, high-end audio products. Existing model numbers will not change, except that the new ones will be identified with the word “Nēo”. For example, the 250i will be referred to as the Nēo 250i.
The standard finish for Nēo series products is “all black”. However, both an “all silver” finish and a “2-tone” finish (silver cheeks with black faceplate) are available.
[Nēo 380D]
NDesigned around our M-AJiC32 circuitry (an asynchronous jitter elimination system) performing in true 32-bit fully asynchronous mode, the Nēo 380D features the ESS SABRE32 Ultra DAC operating in 32-bit Hyperstream™ where the conversion process uses an astonishing 8 DAC’s per channel. Raising the bar further, there are eight (8) digital inputs covering the full gamut of connections – USB, S/PDIF, AES/EBU, and Optical. All of these inputs accept a signal up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution. Finally, we’ve included a full digital monitor loop (S/PDIF) to accommodate external devices such as a room correction component.
Enhancing this Digital-to-Analog Converter are two (2) separate options; (i) The MOON MiND music streamer module which is actually a 9th digital input, via WiFi or Ethernet connection, and (ii) a high quality remote-controlled volume circuit feeding both balanced (XLR) and single-ended (RCA) analog outputs. The 380D is targeted at individuals with computer-based audio setups, large digital music collections or multiple digital sources. It portrays all of the Simaudio sonic hallmarks: clean, powerful, fast and extended bass combined with an open midrange and airy extended high frequencies.

[Nēo 350P]
The Nēo 350P is a high-performance differential preamplifier. Using circuitry derived from our Evolution Series, the 350P is a modular design that accepts optional plug-in modules: (i) a 24-bit/192kHz high-performance D/A converter with USB, optical (TosLink)and RCA (S/PDIF) inputs, and (ii) a configurable phono stage for both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. This preamplifier’s wide bandwidth and excellent dynamic range allows it to effortlessly reproduce high-resolution audio. Yes, it gives a very open, finely detailed performance.
Yes, it’s high resolution high end as you would expect from Dynaudio. No, there’s absolutely no grain. But, there’s lots of extra punch and depth in the truly solid bass, on a greater scale with a larger soundstage and very good imaging.
What the musicians like: Good punch for a slim floorstand, very good staging and imaging thanks to slightly upwards-directed sound (away from the floor = less reflections). What the tekkies like: It’s a very amp friendly 8 ohm speaker.

Ho, ho, ho. This one’s so very open and clear, blends in perfectly (with X14 and X34), without making the centre sound too prominent.
It has good timing and, importantly, a defined imaging and sound directionality. What the musicians like: Very compact, to make placement easier, defined sound directionality.
What the tekkies like: Integrated (yet detachable) angled base foot, directs the sound slightly upwards, like, from below the screen. Very amp friendly 8 ohm speaker.

Valhalla 2 Analog Interconnects
The Valhalla 2 Interconnect consists of 10 conductors made from solid, optimized diameter 99.999999% oxygen free copper, each plated with 85 microns of silver. Its surface is highly polished and treated before a precision Dual Mono-Filament wrap is applied. A precision FEP tube is then extruded over each conductor. The ten FEP tubes are then bonded with a proprietary technique to create a tubular interconnect cable, enclosed in two layers of silver shielding. The V2 interconnect is offered with an RCA or XLR HOLO:PLUG™.
V2 is extremely fast, at over 87% the speed of light. It transmits wide bandwidth signals with incredible speed and minimum phase shift. The V2 cable is state of the art, bettered only by the mighty Odin. It delivers incredible transient response and dynamic resolution so that no musical detail is lost. Each Valhalla 2 interconnect cable is hand built in the USA with HOLO:PLUG™ RCA phono plugs or gold HOLO:PLUG™ XLR connectors.

Valhalla 2 Digital Interconnect
Digital signals are subject to extremely precise transmission and termination standards. Ensuring that your digital cables meet those standards is vital to achieving the best possible performance from high-resolution digital systems. The Valhalla 2 Digital Interconnect employs our advanced Dual Mono-Filament construction to mechanically dampen its silver plated, solid copper conductors, while also reducing dielectric contact by over 85%.
Two versions of the V2 digital are available: a 75 ohm and a 110 AES/EBU. In order to achieve exact impedance matching, the 75 Ohm version uses a single conductor, while in the 110 Ohm version two conductors are bonded together. A double layer of silver shielding is then applied around them. Like all our Valhalla cables, the Digital Interconnects are hand built in the USA. The 75 Ohm cable is terminated with BNC connectors for correct impedance matching and is supplied with gold plated RCA adaptors. The 110 Ohm cable uses gold plated XLR connectors. Ensuring that they have the minimum effect on the digital signal, our connectors are selected for their sonic properties and their impedance matching characteristics.

Valhalla 2 Loudspeaker Cable
The Valhalla 2 Reference Speaker Cable consists of twenty-eight conductors divided into four groups of seven. Each conductor is made from solid core 99.999999% oxygen free copper and plated with 85 microns of silver. A Dual Mono-Filament wrap is applied and helically wound around each conductor before a precision FEP jacket is extruded over the outside. The transmission speed of the cable is extremely fast, at over 96% the speed of light. The V2 exemplifies state of the art technology with very wide bandwidth signals and minimum phase shift. Valhalla 2 Power Cords set the same benchmark standard in their category as the other Valhalla cables do in theirs. But thanks to the application of our latest Dual Mono-Filament technology they enjoy an even bigger margin of performance over the competition. The cable consists of 7 solid silver plated 16 AWG OFC conductors, each suspended in a Dual Mono-Filament matrix. The separate solid core conductors eliminate strand interaction, hot spots, and carbonization, which can occur in stranded cables. Unlike conventional power cables, which have propagation speeds that are less than 50% the speed of light, the Valhalla 2 Reference Power Cord has a speed of 91 % the speed of light. Extruded FEP insulation is superior to all other materials. It has very low signal loss and high thermal efficiency, causing it to dissipate heat quickly. The use of FEP in a Dual Mono-Filament construction means that power is transferred more effectively, while the low resistance of the cable keeps power loss extremely low. Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable
The Valhalla 2 Reference Tonearm Cable is designed specifically to pass the most fragile signal in your system. The quality of the conductors, connectors, and the termination itself are all critical to realizing the performance of a high-quality analog replay system. This is especially true since the output of a typical moving-coil cartridge is around 10,000 times smaller than many CD players. The V2 Tonearm Cable’s conductors use the same silver plated, solid 99.999999% OFC copper as the other Valhalla cables but are tuned and configured for their specific task. WOOFER
Sonus faber woofer W18XTR is a direct descendant of the 9” speakers used in “Aida”. The salient aspect of the woofer, is to merge high definition, the prerogative of the ‘sandwich’ cones, and an identity in synergy with the sound of the midrange. This goal was reached by developing a “sandwich” membrane that combines a “heart” in hi-tech rigid syntactic foam with external layers in treated cellulose pulp. The 1.5” voice coils “controlled Eddy Current”, together with the powerful long stroke magnetic motor, are guarantees for excellent performance, both from the dynamic point of view and that of linearity.

MIDRANGE
Sonus faber M15XTR. A totally Sonus faber designed 150 mm ultra dynamic linearity midwoofer. CCAW wire is used on a composite former “eddy current free” voice coil. The dynamically linear magnetic field motor incorporates triple Kellog/Goeller rings. A special custom diaphragm is made with a real time air dried non pressed blend of traditional cellulose pulp, kapok, kenaf and other natural fibers, developed according to the most natural sound. To further inhibit any residual cone coloration we are using a transparent viscous surface damping coating. Special coaxial anti-compressors is used, designed to remove cavity resonance and distortions.
WOOFERS
Sonus faber wooferS W18XTR are direct descendants of the 9” speakers used in “Aida”. The salient aspect of the woofers, is to merge high definition, the prerogative of the ‘sandwich’ cones, and an identity in synergy with the sound of the midrange. This goal was reached by developing a “sandwich” membrane that combines a “heart” in hi-tech rigid syntactic foam with external layers in treated cellulose pulp. The 1.5” voice coils “controlled Eddy Current”, together with the powerful long stroke magnetic motor, are guarantees for excellent performance, both from the dynamic point of view and that of linearity.

Non-resonant “progressive slope” design, optimized amplitude/phase response for optimal space/time performance. “Paracross topology” on both tweeter hi-pass and midrange band pass, cross-over points 250 Hz – 2.500 Hz.

Nordost will introduce its new Valhalla 2 Reference Cable Range at the High End Show, M.O.C. in Munich, Germany on May 9, 2013.
The latest range consists of analog, digital, and tonearm interconnects, as well as loudspeaker and power cables. The new Valhalla 2 range uses upgraded Dual Mono-Filament technology, along with an innovative proprietary connector called the HOLO:PLUG™. The HOLO:PLUG™ is a patent pending connector, designed to be the best possible interface between the cable and the component. Perfect signal integrity can be measured throughout the system. Designed to transfer every last nuance of detail, the HOLO:PLUG™ is a miracle of mechanical and electrical integrity. The Valhalla 2 Analog Interconnect uses Dual Mono-Filament technology with ten silver plated, 24 AWG, oxygen free copper conductors. The cable is available in single ended and balanced versions and is terminated with our proprietary HOLO:PLUG™ RCA or XLR connectors.
Valhalla 2 Loudspeaker Cables use Dual Mono-Filament technology with 28 silver plated, 22 AWG, oxygen free copper conductors. The cable is available to be terminated with new gold plated HOLO:PLUG™ spade connectors or gold plated Nordost Z plug bananas.
For turntable users, Nordost has introduced a dedicated tonearm cable to the Valhalla 2 range. It uses Dual Mono-Filament technology with four silver plated, 24 AWG, oxygen free copper conductors. The Valhalla 2 Tonearm Cable is available with HOLO:PLUG™ RCA or XLR connectors, terminated with a standard or 90 degree mini-din connector. Its standard minimum length is 1.25 meters, but it can be ordered in additional half meter increments. For digital applications there are two elegant solutions: a 75 ohm Valhalla 2 Digital Cable, terminated with a BNC connector for best impedance matching (supplied with a gold plated BNC/RCA adapter) and a 110 ohm dual conductor Valhalla 2 AES/EBU, terminated with a balanced Neutrik XLR connector. The Valhalla 2 Power Cord uses Dual Mono-Filament technology with seven silver plated, 16 AWG, oxygen free copper conductors. It is terminated with our new carbon fiber HOLO:PLUG™ IEC in 15 and 20 amp versions. US and European HOLO:PLUG™ connectors are available.
