There are many new and interesting developments going on behind the scenes here in the beautiful Adelaide Hills – the home base of the ‘new’ Halcro. Within the next 12 months we will be launching new versions of the phenomenal DM amplifier, as well as a less expensive alternative to the DM38 in an entirely new design. We also have at least one new pair of Loudspeakers to show you…
We are not yet ready to give too much away, but here are some “cryptic’ design shots to wet your appetite. We welcome the opportunity to demonstrate several new Halcro products in the coming months. We can barely contain our excitement. Get ready for the new Halcro.

数年に１度、デザインにこだわった一体型？ハイエンドオーディオシステムが登場するサイクルみたいなものがあるような気もしますが、久々に聴いてみたいと思わせるブランドが登場しました。特に最近は新規ブランドの創設も少なく、どちらかといえば堅実な製品が多かった気がしますが、このブランドは違います。
奇抜だけど洗練されたデザイン・カーボンを使ったボディー・オーディオボードもあわせて開発している音へのこだわりなど、非常に注目度が高いです。
このようなブランドは、なかなか成功（長続き）できないイメージもありますが、これからに期待です。

2002年頃、衝撃的デビューを飾りハイエンドオーディオアンプ界を席巻した「 HALCRO 」がついに復活するようです。数年前から、復活する旨のアナウンスはされていましたが、新製品が完成に近づいているようです。

Magico, the leader in high performance loudspeaker design and manufacture, is pleased to announce the new M3.
The 2014 release of the M-Project provided a glimpse of the innovative designs and advanced technologies that were being developed at Magico. Since then, we have continued to develop and refine the concepts and vision introduced by the M-Project. The new Magico M3, picks up where the M-Project left off, and not only builds upon its legacy, but takes it several steps further. A new Carbon-fiber side panel design, an all grapheme midrange and bass driver design, a new driver coupling system and the phenomenal 28mm diamond coated beryllium tweeter, previously found only in the M-Project, all come together in what is the most sophisticated loudspeaker we have ever created.
Magico is the world’s first manufacturer to utilize graphene in the development of a leading-edge loudspeaker cone design. Graphene has many extraordinary properties and is approximately 100 times stronger than the toughest steel. The newly designed Magico six-inch midrange and seven-inch bass driver cones found in the M3 are both manufactured from Multi-Wall carbon XG Nanographene and a new proprietary ultra-stiff carbon weave which is 20% lighter and 300% stiffer than the cone material used in previous Magico loudspeaker offerings. The underhung neodymium base motor system provides an ultra-stabilized magnetic field for the pure Titanium voice coil to operate within. This radical new driver design offers the lowest THD in the industry and sets the performance benchmark for others to aspire to.
The M3 midrange driver operates in a purpose built sub-enclosure made of a proprietary polymer that enhances midrange control and articulation. This sub-enclosure concept was first used in the S3 and is now applied to our more recent 3-way speaker designs. Three seven-inch M3 bass drivers are vertically aligned to achieve ideal room integration and reproduce the lowest registers of bass frequency with speed and accuracy. A solid copper gasket is applied between the driver’s chassis and enclosure to maximize the coupling effect and diffuse resonances between the two surfaces. The M3 bass drivers are optimized for minimal music related distortions in the frequency and time domain using the latest state-of-the-art FEA simulation of acoustics, mechanics, electromagnetic and thermal behavior. The testing process is now completed on a single platform allowing optimization levels to be taken to a higher level.
The M3 incorporates the diamond coated beryllium diaphragm tweeter (28-mm) used in the M-Project. The optimized geometry and the diamond coating on the beryllium aligns the acoustical properties closer to perfection without adding the extra weight of a full Diamond dome. This revolutionary tweeter design offers a near perfect weight to stiffness ratio that is unmatched in the industry. The new tweeter provides extra-long excursion movement and uses a neodymium based motor system that is customized to match the sensitivity and power handling capabilities of the M3 while maintaining ultra-wide dispersion characteristics and ultra-low distortion measurements.
An internal three-axis matrix framework encapsulated in a sandwich Carbon-fiber skin, contributes to an extremely rigid yet damped enclosure and eliminates unwanted resonances and colorations, allowing all drivers to perform with stunning resolution and dynamics. All five drivers in the M3 are acoustically integrated using Magico’s exclusive Elliptical Symmetry Crossover topology.

Chord Electronics, the world-leading digital audio expert, is showing two new proprietary-tech amplifiers at High End 2016, including the highly anticipated complementary power amp for the Hugo TT DAC (Room C122, Atrium 3).
The TToby is an exciting new desktop stereo power amplifier designed to complement the Hugo TT DAC and take advantage of its high-quality digital preamp functionality. The TToby has been created using the same form factor as the Hugo TT and its introduction enables desktop audio lovers to create a high-performance Chord system where space is tight. The new TToby (around £2,995 and available August/late summer) will offer Chord’s
proprietary amplifier technology and deliver 130 watts into a four-ohm load. The Hugo TT and TToby combination, allows music lovers to enjoy the benefits of Chord’s class-leading DAC technology via headphones and loudspeakers, giving complete flexibility within busy households. TToby offers both balanced and unbalanced inputs to complement the Hugo TT’s outputs, and benefits from Chord’s famous switch-mode power supplies.
The new SPM1050MkII is a 200-watt stereo power amp which introduces a raft of internal upgrades, plus a number of aesthetic improvements over its predecessor. The new MkII version, which will be priced at £4,995 and is available now, benefits from reduced output distortion and improvements to capacitance for a bigger, cleaner power delivery.
The new SPM1050MkII uses the latest low-distortion amplifier circuitry and features four proprietary lateral-structure dual-die MOSFETs, enabling the amp to drive a wide range of
1 difficult loudspeaker loads with ease. The MkII version also includes greater isolation on the mains transformer, to reduce interference.
Aesthetic improvements include a new vented aluminium lid, akin to the DSX1000 streamer, plus a new piano-black side panel option over the Integra legs, giving the power amp a fresh, contemporary look. The amp will be performing at High End alongside the flagship DAVE DAC/preamp, using Bowers and Wilkins 803 D3s — it should be quite a performance!
