Spiral Groove today announced that its Strange Attractors vibration isolation devices are being offered in an expanded lineup with a choice of more thread sizes, to fit a wider variety of loudspeakers and audio/video components. In addition to the previously available unthreaded Universal and 1/4-20-threaded Attach and Decouple models, Strange Attractors are now available in thread sizes from 4-40 to 1/2-inch, and metric sizes including 6 mm and 8 mm.
Strange Attractors are vibration isolation devices that are placed under a loudspeaker or component to absorb the unwanted vibrations they can generate that can degrade the sound of an audio system. Strange Attractors capture and dissipate the energy from these unwanted vibrations by employing a combination of aluminum and graphite (and elastomer for the Decouple), machined with a distinctive truncated double-conical design. The different materials and the Strange Attractors’ physical shape work together to effectively refract, reflect and ultimately dissipate the unwanted vibrations within the Strange Attractors’ internal structure.
The Universal is recommended for components without moving parts or traditional transformers, while the Attach is designed to be used under loudspeakers and the Decouple is excellent for use with non-suspended turntables, CD players, Blu-ray players and similar components.
Spiral Groove Strange Attractors are currently available at suggested retail prices ranging from $375 to $450 for sets of three and $500 to $600 for sets of four. Strange Attractors are distributed in the U.S. by Immedia, which also distributes Spiral Groove turntables, pickup arms and accessories, Canalis loudspeakers and QUALIA & COMPANY audio components.

Wadia has advanced its tradition of progressive technology and industrial design, to deliver a product with the utmost in performance and aesthetics while also being environmentally conscious. Intuition focuses on the digital inputs, with 192 kHz/24 bit resolution for Coax, optical and AES and 384 kHz/32 bit via USB. There are also two analog inputs. At the heart of the digital decoding is a high resolution, 32 bit AD/DA digital preamp with a 1.5 MHz sampling frequency. The 350 watt, high efficiency power amplifier is capable of driving any loudspeaker. Its design is proudly made in Italy.

The Intuition 01 utilizes an innovative implementation of Wadia’s celebrated Digimaster algorithm, the Delta-SigMaster (the original Digimaster was a groundbreaking design created over two decades ago). Delta-SigMaster is a 1.536 MHz upsampling algorithm (FIR 1.200 taps) far superior to standard industry practices, as well as the previous Wadia Delta-Sigma implementation. The ESS 9018 SabreDAC provides the decoding horsepower delivering effortless musical performance. Concerto Power Amplifier
Housed in the same size billet Aluminum chassis as the Crescendo, the Concerto delivers 125W into 8 ohms and 225W into 4 ohms. Like all Viola power amplifiers the Concerto uses a choke input power supply. This reduces peak charging currents that are prevalent in capacitor input supplies. This minimizes intermodulation distortion on the power supply rails on ground returns.
Concerto Audio Design
The Concerto is a Class AB biased push-pull amplifier design. The Concerto incorporates Motorola ThermalTrak™ into the bias network. This provides fast thermal feedback information without the thermal lag of other bias topologies. A center chassis Venturi style heat sink provides cooling for the amplifier. Connections to loudspeakers are provided by a pair of WBT nextgen™ connectors per channel.
Network
The Concerto can be connected to the Crescendo preamplifier via the CAN (Controller Area Network) connector. When this is done Concerto status information including temperature and line voltage are transmitted to the Wi-Fi remote application. This also provides synchronization of the color displays and standby modes.
