Monitor Audio launches new Radius Series speakers and Radius One soundbar
Monitor Audio has revealed details of its new Radius Series speakers, bringing new versions of the popular Radius 45, 90 and 270 speakers, plus a new 200 centre, re-engineered subwoofers and a Radius One soundbar.
The new Radius speakers, which are set for release this September, come with new all-metal driver configurations and C-CAM bass drivers and tweeters.

The Super Capacitor Power Supply offers the advantages of battery power, without the drawbacks. It has two outputs and can power the Corus and the Aeris at the same time.
The PSU is an external Ultracapacitor-based power supply that can be applied to deliver DC to Corus, Aeris, and the upcoming Criterion replacement. It is likely that PSU may yield a great deal of transient authority to applicable devices. In theory, it should be capable of delivering quite a bit of authority, because supercaps are capable of very quick power surges, while NiMH batteries are not.
You can’t apply PSU to any power amps…. Just not enough current for that. It was designed for low current applications only. PSU is absolutely NOT compatible with the now withdrawn Criterion or Capri any other older preamplifier.

With the exception of the front panel buttons and volume control disc, every part and circuit of the 2110 Preamplifier is new and has been redesigned, marking a complete evolution of the 2010 Preamplifier.
Some of the significant changes in the 2110 include:
The complete preamplifier is comprised of four chassis and features the total isolation of left and right audio channels, logic and user interface sections, and power supplies.
A separate 2100 Power Supply chassis houses four independent power supplies for left audio, right audio, logic and user interface, and standby/power-on.
A new, microprocessor-controlled, high efficiency standby function reduces power consumption while in standby mode.
Complete surface-mount circuit board construction manufactured on Boulder’s own surface- mount pick-and-place machines and ovens to increase reliability, consistency and optimized ground planing while at the same time reducing signal path length, PCB capacitance and noise radiation.

[2150 Mono Amplifier]
Every electronic circuit within the 2150 Mono Amplifier is entirely new and all technological changes are primarily derived from Boulder’s 3050 Mono Amplifier.
Among the numerous changes and advances encompassed by the 2150 are:
Pure linear Class A operation. Bias current is actively monitored and adjusted in order to increase efficiency and reduce wasted radiated heat energy.
A new, high efficiency, microprocessor controlled standby mode reduces power consumption when engaged.
All electronic circuits and electronics are now surface-mount designs manufactured on Boulder’s own surface-mount manufacturing machines and ovens to increase reliability, consistency and optimized ground planing while at the same time reducing signal path length, PCB capacitance and noise radiation.
Gain stages within the 2150 are Boulder’s proprietary 99H2, which is unique to the 2100 Series amplifiers. 99H2 gain stages feature surface-mount electronic design and feature a new machined and potted housing to increase thermal stability.
The 2150 utilizes 80 output devices, 48 filter capacitors and 3 toroidal power transformers to generate power output of up to 1,000 watts into any load, enabling massive current swings and the ability to drive any loudspeaker to realistic audio levels.
Full Ethernet IP control capability and a 12V trigger minijack connection for use with advanced control systems and triggered home cinema installations.
Units will be available shipped at operating voltages of 100V, 120V and 240VAC.
A new and complete array of protection and status monitoring circuits are continuously active.
The physical and cosmetic changes in the 2150 include a slightly revised front panel and a new clear anodized top, bottom and rear panel with no powder coating or paint. All rear panel markings and indications are now machine engraved. Metal casework is cut on Boulder’s own four CNC machining centers.

The SACD Heritage is the brand new device to read your CD and SACD. It has been developped with all the newest technilogies avaliaible on the market. It integrates the VMK-5 mechanism from Esoteric. This product is composed with a new 4.3″ TFT LCD to display all the new features of this CD / SACD drive.
The Orpheus Heritage line is the state of art of audio performance and design. We are here talking about pure audio performance. The goal is to play the music as it has been precisely recorded on the CD/SACD support without any inappropriate modification of sound. It is obvious that to achieve this goal we don’t have any compromise on the quality of the materials selected and the components used inside the machine. The SACD drive integrates the new mechanism VMK-5 from Esoteric with the VRDS technology that minimizes friction and stresses on the electrical engine. This is why the playback speed is very smooth and the system extremely quiet. A new oversized power supply was used with the newest technologies of AC/DC and DC/DC regulation to have the best audio performances with limited power converted to heat unnecessary in order to increase the components life. A new 4.3 ‘’ LCD screen with more than 16Mio color and a brightness controllable on 255 steps is used. The signal board has been developed to control the correct path of digital data and includes a self monitoring error system. This player also incorporates the new upsampling module Q5 and the new Time Lock clocking system. To get the best audio performance of the D/A converter from the same line, the SACD Heritage integrates a DSD output and a clock out connector in order to minimize the jitter.

The front panel incorporates the IR receiver, a standby LED the tray of the SACD mechanism, the LCD screen and the illuminated logo. The marvelous curve of the front panel of the two separated boxes reminds the wave of the Orpheus logo with class and very refined style. The Heritage D/A Converter is the most famous product of the brand Orpheus. It has just been updated in order to be compatible with all the new features avaliaible on the SACD drive from the same line. DSD is now supported as well as a word clock in order to improve the clocks specifications.
The new D/A Converter Heritage has been updated with brand new features as a new DSD (Direct Stream Direct) input. Moreover, the new DAC is able to clock with external clock incoming from the digital source. If no external clock is used, the Time Lock module will generate the master clock used for all the different stages of the converter in order to minimize the jitter. It also keeps the high level of audio technology in using the several upsampling modules and the unique proprietary D/A converter drive modules with 4 D/A converter IC’s per channel. The scrambling technique is used in order to lower the noise due to the D/A conversion. A firewire and a USB 192KHz input had been integrated also in order to connect the DAC Heritage with a computer in order to use the device as an impressive audio external converter. In order to keep the highest rate of performance, we decided to keep a dual mono architecture. That means that each channel has its own power supply and its own transformer in order to erase all interaction between the channels. The DSP board and the DSP board had also been reviewed in order to integrate all these new features and upgrade the level of the most legendary product from Orpheus.

It goal is to convert the noisy AC voltage coming from the electrical net into a DC regulated and clean voltage. The other box, is the the electronic signal box.
