The Goldmund ProLogos Plus

In order to push performance above the Prologos, Goldmund has presented recently the Prologos Plus, using the same frame and general construction, but slightly higher in size.
To achieve an even more extended response in the low frequencies, a third way has been added to the Prologos 2‐ way topology, using a 7” Woofer of extreme linearity.
The Mid-range and tweeter remain the same drivers used in the Prologos and the same drivers used in the Goldmund Apologue Anniversary.
In order to keep the high efficiency and high SPL capability of the Prologos, and additional Telos circuit is used and an exceptional 3-way crossover is implemented in the Digital domain with full Amplitude, Phase and Time correction.
The Prologos Plus enclosure remains quite compact (600x288x392mm), and fully built in metal. The same accessory Mechanical Grounding Frames and stands are available to even increase the dynamic range and neutrality in the low frequencies range.
The Goldmund ProLogos Plus version is equipped with a Goldmund wireless receiver linking the speaker to the digital signal from a preamplifier connected to a Goldmund Wireless Transmitter, or directly from a computer with the Goldmund Dongle Emitter.
For a low additional price the Goldmund traditional metal finish can be replaced by a lacquered precious wood finish. If ordered in advance the ProLogos Plus can be finished bespoke with a nearly limitless choice of rare woods finish.
The Goldmund Eidos 17 Universal Player
The Eidos 17 is the newest Goldmund Universal Player of small dimension and reasonable cost. It is the perfect source for a 2-channel or Multi-channel system.
The unit is matching in design and finish of the new Mimesis 11 Hub so both units can be stacked to build a small but complete system controlling any one pair of the Goldmund Wireless speakers, even the most ambitious.
The player is based on the latest Oppo design, specially adapted by Oppo to Goldmund requirements.

The Goldmund Mimesis 11 Wireless Hub

The perfect source and control for a pair of Goldmund Wireless Speakers.
All the Goldmund wireless speakers have been designed so they can be run directly from a computer by using the Goldmund dongle. If they are used in a multi-channel system, they can also be run from one of the Goldmund multi‐channel processor associated with a Goldmund Wireless Transmitter.
The new Goldmund Mimesis 11 solves the problem of connecting one pair of these wireless speakers in a 2‐channel system. The Mimesis 11 is then used as a preamplifier with a built-in Wireless Transmitter. The Mimesis 11 can receive all kind of sources: analog (2 x RCA), digital RCA SPDif, digital Toslink, USB, and will receive even more in future update options (additional Digital and Wifi Streaming are the most probable as of now). Its volume control allows the 2-channel system level adjustment and the output stereo signal can be sent either by Spdif coaxial like other Goldmund processors (4 x paralleled coaxial RCA outputs), but also as a 2‐channel Wireless signal through a rear‐panel wireless antenna.
The associated Remote‐control is ultra‐simple and based on the Apple universal remote. The unit is matching in design and finishes the new Eidos 17 Universal player so they can be stacked to build a complete compact system used a source for a pair of Goldmund standalone speakers, from Micrometis to Apologue.

Constellation Audio, the innovative manufacturer of high performance amplifiers, preamplifiers, and digital playback systems, is pleased to announce the debut of its new Inspiration Series preamplifier and amplifiers at the Munich High End Show in Munich Germany from May 15 – 18. Derived from the highly acclaimed Reference and Performance Series components which established Constellation Audio as a premiere electronics manufacturer, the Inspiration Series components bring the engineering, design, and manufacturing expertise of Constellation Audio to a new generation of listeners.
Drawing on their rich heritage, Inspiration offers listeners the best of Constellation Audio designs, performance which has been distilled to the essence, but not diluted. The amplifier and preamplifier are the first of the Inspiration Series components to be released, with an integrated amplifier, phono preamplifier, DAC, and media player to follow later this year.
Murali Murugasu, CEO of Constellation Audio, states that the Inspiration Series “are landmark components that offer a unique value proposition to the high end audio customer. Their ability to deliver such high performance at a relatively modest price is unmatched in our industry.”
According to Peter Madnick, VP of Engineering for Constellation Audio, the reasons for being able to bring the Inspiration Series of components to market are unique. “Because we do everything in-house, we are able to utilize many of the same circuit topologies found in our more sophisticated designs. The strong aesthetic family resemblance is achieved through using the same industrial design team (led by Alex Rasmussen of Neal Feay) which created the Reference and Performance Series products.”
Inspiration power amplifiers are available in both stereo and monaural configurations and are designated AMP 1.0 and MONO 1.0, while the preamplifier is called PREAMP 1.0.
The heart of the amplifiers’ design is our unique Balanced Bridged circuit topology, which combines multiple single-ended amplifier modules in a fully balanced design – the same design used in our Reference and Performance Series amplifiers. To assure a perfectly balanced signal, the AMP 1.0 and MONO 1.0 also incorporate the servo circuits in our Line Stage Gain Module to make certain that both halves of an incoming signal are perfectly balanced, no matter what the source.
With AMP 1.0 delivering a conservatively rated 200 wpc into 8 Ohms (400 wpc into 4 Ohms) and MONO 1.0 delivering twice that (into 8 and 4 Ohm loads respectively) per chassis, it is highly unlikely that anyone will exhaust the dynamic reserves of these powerful amplifiers.
From the Reference Series’ Altair II to the Performance Series’ Virgo II to the new Inspiration Series PREAMP 1.0, the lineage is unmistakable. Technologically, PREAMP 1.0 uses the same Line Stage Gain Module design in a fully balanced configuration as does its more costly siblings. To this, we incorporate such real world features as a home theater bypass, remote turn-on/turn-off capability, and an elegant machined-aluminum remote control. PREAMP 1.0 is equally suited to be the centerpiece of a great music system or as an integral part of a multi-channel home entertainment system. Either way, the user gets the benefits of Constellation Audio performance and design in an affordable package.

The largest model of the new Dali Rubicon series, and thus the flagship, the Dali Rubicon 8 is designed as a 3 1/2-way-system and measures an impressive 1,100 x 220 x 444 mm and brings at least 27.3 kg on the scales. This stand-speaker system includes at least three 165 mm driver plus the Dali Hybrid tweeter driver. As a special feature of Dali A / S recalls in this connection that, in each of the three low-midrange driver is installed in a separate sealed enclosure that has in each case a run to the rear bass reflex system.
The last model of the new Dali Rubicon series feature the same from several special features. At HIGH END 2014 HARMAN’s Luxury Audio Group will be exhibiting its new Mark Levinson No. 585 Integrated Amplifier, designed to deliver ultimate-quality music reproduction from analog and digital sources, including computers and music servers. The No. 585 combines a host of engineering advancements with complete ease of use and Mark Levinson’s striking, next-generation industrial design. It will be featured at HIGH END 2014 at the MOC Munich, Atrium 4, F119 (May 15 – 18, 2014).
The No. 585 is engineered to be the finest integrated amplifier ever created by Mark Levinson – or anyone – and is the first of a new generation of products to be designed at HARMAN’s new state-of-the-art engineering facility located in Shelton, CT. According to Todd Eichenbaum, Luxury Audio’s Director of Engineering, “The No. 585 is engineered for ultimate audio quality in every respect. It combines exceptional versatility with a powerful Class AB amplifier delivering 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 350 watts per channel into 4 ohms and will accommodate a wide variety of digital music sources including high resolution 32-bit/192kHz computer audio and DSD over USB. As we all know, many owners of high-end systems also want the convenience of playing compressed audio files but do not want to sacrifice sound quality. As an industry first, we have solved this challenge by incorporating HARMAN Clari-Fi™ processing, which employs proprietary signal-enhancement techniques to any compressed file format selectable at the user’s option.”
The No. 585 offers six digital and four analog inputs including USB, optical, coaxial, AES/EBU XLR and RCA for ultimate flexibility. It employs fully discrete, mirror-imaged, dual-monaural analog input and output circuitry, optimized for sonic integrity as evidenced by its symmetrical, clean interior design. The No. 585 uses individual signal switching relays for each of its four analog stereo inputs: one XLR and three RCA. The volume controls use discrete 15-bit R-2R resistor ladder networks and low-noise analog switches for maximum signal integrity with the widest possible bandwidth.
Its high-current, fully differential (balanced) Class AB power amplifier section utilizes an oversized 900VA custom toroidal transformer with individual secondary windings for the left and right channels. Separate left- and right-channel regulated linear power supplies are used for all the analog circuitry, to maintain maximum signal purity. Each amplifier channel employs 12 output transistors for a power rating of 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms.
At the heart of the No. 585’s digital audio processing stage is an ESS Sabre 32-bit D/A converter with proprietary jitter elimination and fully balanced, discrete I/V (current-to-voltage) circuitry. The Cmedia USB audio processor is capable of asynchronous data transfer of high-resolution DSD and PCM files at up to 192kHz/32-bit resolution. For lower-resolution audio formats, HARMAN’s Clari-Fi signal processing reconstructs information and bandwidth that is lost in compressed file formats restoring higher-fidelity sound. In contrast to competitor offerings, Clari-Fi™ does not blindly add equalization, bass boost, or other effects that alter the intended listening experience.
The No. 585 provides a stereo preamp/subwoofer output with a selectable 80Hz high-pass filter for use in a properly implemented 2.1-channel system, and includes Ethernet, RS-232, IR and 12V trigger ports to facilitate its use audio/video installations with integrated systems control.
Like every Mark Levinson component, the No. 585 integrated amplifier is built without compromise to the highest standards, using a heavy-gauge chassis and card-cage architecture to isolate critical low-level analog and digital circuitry, and featuring audiophile-grade internal components and premium rear-panel connectors.
Though sophisticated in its capabilities, the Mark Levinson No. 585 is simplicity itself to operate via its dual front-panel knobs and six function buttons or using its included remote control. The No. 585 is as stunning in appearance as it is in performance – its next-generation industrial design and superior casework blends iconic Mark Levinson historical elements with a crisp modern look.
