The list of our many new developments starts with the Musicbook POWER 500/1000 – Version II. On the face of it, there are no differences in comparison with the previous model, but the new circuit design of the POWER II is a class of its own:
The sonically crucial voltage gain stage was outsourced from the N-CORE module and constructed as a separate circuit. The use of extremely high-grade J-FET amplifiers and a power supply with less than 1 µV of noise level results in an almost perfect amplification of the input signal without any negative influence from class-D amp interference. The N-CORE module is quasi used as a power buffer to provide the already amplified input voltage with the necessary current which is needed for driving loudspeakers. A perfect team with a big sound potential.
The signal detector, which is responsible for turning the amplifier on and off, has been reworked: the sensitivity was raised and at the same time the immunity to interference was lowered by the use of a fully balanced circuit design. The signal detector works only in the left channel now and has therefore the same sensitivity in both operating modes (stereo and bi-amping). Altogether a clear increase in operating safety.

DIAMOND CONES
Sound that sparkles.
Pure Diamond is the ultimate material for speaker membranes. Used in the high-frequency range, its stiffness-to-weight ratio and internal sound velocity are unsurpassed.
Diamond is also the best heat conductor known to man. This is essential for loudspeaker membranes, providing the best heatsink for the voice coil; resulting in high power handling and very low compression.
The sonic character of our Diamond tweeters is not what you might expect. Others can sound ‘overly brilliant’ or ‘hard-as-diamond’. Harmonic distortion can be a problem too. Our crossover has been carefully designed to deal with this. In fact, you get the opposite – the Diamonds simply disappear, leaving only your music.
CERAMIC CONES
Advanced technology for natural sound.
Hard ceramic is light, yet extremely rigid, making it one of the best materials for speaker membranes – it’s also known as Sapphire.
Our ceramic cones have a high internal damping factor, because of a refined electrochemical process. The membrane also has a high material resonance frequency, meaning distortion is minimal; offering a level of clarity that is the holy grail for high end speaker cones.

CABINETS
Resonance free
Years of research have shown that the best material for loudspeaker cabinets is Carbon Fibre laminate. We’ve tested many materials, but none offer such strength and rigidity. This makes the cabinet extremely inert and resonance-free across the whole frequency range. It also has a high internal damping factor despite its light weight.
We know that cabinet construction is just as important as the components you use inside, so Carbon Fibre is the ideal complement.

The reduction of resonance is important to the design of our speakers – it can mean the difference between a good speaker and a great speaker. With IsoAcoustics we created Marten Isolators. Marten worked tirelessly to refine the crossover so it would work perfectly with Accuton Cell drivers. It wasn’t an easy task, but it was the clear solution.
The first order crossover makes it possible to have perfect time and phase coherence; and flawless time coincidence. This means that all registers are generated at the exact same moment, as it was recorded. Just like live music.

HIGHLIGHTS
Tweeter
The BC150’s two Air-Motion-Transformers (AMT) tweeters in the design contribute significantly to the precision and detail that are distinctive characteristics of Burmester products. The front-located AMT drive unit is derived from the one used in the BC350 flagship and tailored for use in the BC150. Due to the lightweight, large-area foil membrane, which is located in a very powerful magnetic field, the high-frequency reproduction achieves optimum detail and transparency in combination with musical fluidity. The second AMT, located to the rear of the cabinet is adjustable to tailor the spatial depth of the sound stage according to personal preference. Consequently this increases the dispersion of the reproduction and increases the optimal listening area for greater listening flexibility.
Midrange
The midrange speaker of the BC150 uses a new, oval-shaped voice coil, which significantly increases the dimensional stability of the lightweight membrane. Thus, the BC150 is able to deliver excellent detail and tonally neutral music reproduction. By means of the very powerful magnet and the associated excellent mass-drive ratio, the sound image of the BC150 also achieves an impressively high degree of agility and resolution.
Low frequency
The large, side-firing woofer has a diameter of 32 cm and provides an exceptionally powerful, deep yet crisp bass. Again, this unit is also derived from the bass driver used in the flagship BC350 and optimally adapted to the conditions of the BC150. Its long-stroke diaphragm coupled with the powerful drive ensures powerful and immediate bass reproduction with sufficient headroom. The very lowest frequencies are delivered via the flow-optimized, carbon fiber bass reflex port with a very high degree of accuracy.
