The CS2.7 incorporates new technologies developed for our flagship CS3.7 loudspeaker
including a state-of-the-art coaxial/coincident driver. The midrange element itself has perfectly
neutral response to 20kHz - an upper range specification seldom attained even by tweeters.
Deep, fast, and tight bass emanates from an all THIEL-designed and built 8-inch woofer
supported by a passive radiator that provides the bass extension of a tuned port with none of
the breathy "chuffing noises" associated with vented enclosure designs. The result is
authoritative bass response boasting the detail and articulation of a sealed cabinet.
The newly designed CS2.7 enclosure wraps THIEL's unique driver designs in a very attractive,
ultra-rigid bent plywood laminated with your choice of hardwood veneer. THIEL's non-resonant
enclosure preserves critical detail during playback--more so than even prior generations of the
THIEL CS2 series speakers which had already excelled in this regard.
[Cabinet]
Low level cabinet vibrations can be audible enough to diminish the purity of sound during
playback of music and movies. THIEL's new CS2.7 replaces the 1 inch thick MDF cabinet walls
of previous CS2 series models with much more robust curved plywood. The increase in rigidity
prevents the enclosure from vibrating in sympathy with the movement of the drivers, preserving
even the most minute details.
Further, the curved walls are laminated in your choice of fine hardwood veneer, creating a
luxurious and attractive loudspeaker that is of the finest furniture grade. The design of the CS2.7
is unmistakably THIEL. The characteristic sloped back baffle is wrapped with walls inspired by
the CS3.7 flagship, but with clean edges and lines made popular by earlier THIEL models.
[Coaxial Coincident Driver]
At the heart of the CS2.7 lies one of THIEL's greatest innovations ever --the star diaphragm
coaxial / coincident driver which inspired the creation of our flagship CS3.7 loudspeaker.
Both the midrange and tweeter diaphragms are formed of anodized aluminum. The unique
ribbed geometry of the midrange is engineered to deliver immense rigidity and clarity. An
uncharacteristically large diameter voice coil further braces the midrange against out of phase
bending common in virtually all other loudspeaker drivers.
Tremendous control and high output capability is afforded by the massive amount of
neodymium magnets powering the drivers. A very large ring magnet drives the midrange, while 5
neodymium magnets drive the tweeter.
As with all THIEL designed and built drivers, this element utilizes a short-coil / long-gap and
copper stabilized motor system to ensure ultra-low distortion and utter faithfulness to your
music.
[BassSystem]
THIEL's eight inch woofer is a perfect example of our quest to develop wide bandwidth drivers
with vanishingly low distortion characteristics.
Distortion is 1/10th that of typical woofers this size. The magnetic system is a THIEL
proprietary short-coil / long-gap design whereby the voice coil never exits the ultra-strong and
stable magnetic field setup inside the gap thus helping the amplifier exert complete control over
woofer motion.
The motor structure is stabilized by sheathing the center pole with a copper sleeve, and by
including a copper shorting ring at the base of the back plate. The first of these measures
dramatically reduce the inductance of the voice coil thereby ensuring that the frequency
response of the driver is not modulated by the motion of the coil over the pole. The copper
shorting ring guarantees that the voice coil's magnetic field (again, analogous to the signal from
the amp) always reacts against a rigid and fixed magnetic field as setup by the magnet. By
exercising these extreme measures in driver design, the THIEL CS2.7 delivers an unprecedented
level of detail and dynamics.
[Crossover]
As with any new THIEL speaker, extensive fine tuning happens in the laboratory and listening
room. The CS2.7 has been precisely tuned after quite an extensive process of measuring in our
engineering facility, and very careful extended listening sessions in our world class listening room.
The job of the crossover is primarily to send sounds of various frequencies to each
appropriate drive unit, but we take the opportunity to do much more. Our 6dB per octave
synthesized crossover slopes ensure that the entire speaker system is phase correct --a feat
very few loudspeakers can claim. We also correct for relatively small irregularities in driver
response which are on such a small scale, most loudspeaker manufacturers are content to
dismiss them entirely.
Those who remain skeptical of including so many components in a crossover can rest at ease.
We use only very fine quality components which will not mask fine detail. Our high quality
capacitors and pure copper air-cored inductors are among the finest in the industry. 製品情報

The Wilson Audio Alexia is a new model
positioned above the Sasha, and below the MAXX.
The Alexia's form factor resembles the Sasha; its footprint is
similar to the Sasha, and it is
slightly taller. The Alexia features three modules to facilitate
micro adjustments in the
time-domain for all three driver groups, the woofer, the midrange
and the tweeter.
High frequencies are handled by a revised version of Wilson's newest
driver, the Convergent
Synergy Tweeter. The critical mid frequencies are
handled by Wilson's acclaimed midrange
driver. For the bass, Wilson
developed two entirely new drivers, an eight-inch and a ten-inch.
As with
the MAXX Series 3 and the Alexandria XLF, speed, bass extension, and
authority are
optimized with this carefully tuned staggered-two-woofer
approach.

Master Clock Vivaldi Master Clock is a powerful yet
simple to use Grade 1 master clock based on dCS pioneering developments in
studio and home audio. Featuring two banks of clock outputs capable of
outputting different frequencies, Vivaldi Master Clock uses the latest
groundbreaking technology from dCS.
In a digital audio system samples must be accurate in level and time but
jitter, which exists in all digital systems, can result in timing errors
in these samples causing the analogue signal to be reconstructed
inaccurately. In a dCS system our DACs can act as the system master clock,
but listening tests have shown that there is no substitute for a
highquality, dedicated master clock.
dCS were pioneers in the use of external clocks in digital audio systems
and our clocking technology has been continually refined so that our
latest multi-stage Phase-Locked-Loop (PLL) system sets world-beating
standards for accuracy and control of troublesome jitter from the incoming
audio stream.
All dCS Master Clocks are subjected to rigorous in-house testing. The
crystal oscillators are pre-aged and selected for long term stability and
then individually calibrated over a wide temperature range to ensure
consistent optimal performance. Vivaldi Master Clock uses a sophisticated
microcontroller system to ensure smooth correction as the temperature
changes and this approach gives a more stable result than either oven
controlled crystal oscillators or even atomic clocks.
All dCS master clocks are designed to generate industry standard Word
Clock on 75 ohm co-axial cable. Other anufacturers’ equipment that has
been designed to accept standard Word Clock can be used with our clocks.
Vivaldi Master Clock may be slaved to an external reference (such as an
atomic clock or GPS reference) if increased accuracy is desired. Our
sophisticated multi-mode Phase-Locked-Loop (PLL) significantly reduces
jitter from the reference source.
The dCS ‘soft’ approach to programmable logic allows the user to
easily update Vivaldi Master Clock software, whether this is to add new
features, improve performance or adapt to changes in digital formats.

Transport Vivaldi Transport is designed to extract
revelatory levels of detail from both CD and SACD
and is the ultimate machine for silver disc replay. All signal
processing in Vivaldi Transport is
controlled by electronics designed by dCS. It uses the TEAC Esoteric
VRDS Neo™ mechanism
which provides a brushless motor with heavy flywheel for stable disc
rotation and super rigid
construction.
The powerful digital processing platform of Vivaldi Transport is
based around Field
Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) chips, Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
chips and a
microcontroller system. All of these use code developed and
maintained in-house by dCS.
Vivaldi Transport represents true state-of-the-art in digital audio
by offering twice the logic

In order to enhance the cleanness of the power supply and isolate
the mechanism from the

The DSX 1000 is our range-topping network music player. With a full-colour

CHORDから、新パワーアンプ「SPM 1200 MKII」登場。 Much of what Chord has achieved is the result of using innovative, leading edge technology.
For example, we believe that we are unique in using the technique of ‘dynamic coupling’ of the
power supply rails. Whatever transient demand is presented to the amplifier stages, the positive
and negative rails remain in perfect equilibrium, with each compensating for the demands made
on the other. This means that power delivery is always balanced and free from ground loop
modulation distortion.
This, combined with enormous reserves of instantly delivered, precisely controlled power is
what makes the SPM 1200 MKII sound so effortless. The power supply rails operate nominally
at ± 90 volts, well above that which most amplifiers can accommodate. This and other advanced
techniques enables the ultra high frequency low ESR power supply to store a great deal more
energy far more efficiently. Clipping is virtually impossible. Furthermore, compared to other
amplifiers of a similar power rating the SPM 1200 MKII weighs in at a mere 18Kg.
Another new technique is used to protect the amplifier against overload, internal and external
short circuits. The output signal path is totally free of any fuses or sound-degrading resistive
components often employed for overload sensing. The SPM 1200 MKII is designed to surpass
the highest European safety and electromagnetic interference standards.
The amplifier sections are also highly sophisticated designs that make the most of the best
high voltage, lateral structure MOSFETs available, 16 x 150 watt devices per channel.
Combining the subtlety and musicality of a good valve design with the punch and accuracy of
‘state of the art’ solid state products.
The result is a ‘sliding bias’ class A/B design with all drive circuitry operating in class A. At
usual listening levels, most of the music will be reproduced in class A. Chord’s no-compromise
design philosophy means there is no better built amplifier. Individually hand-crafted, it is
constructed to aerospace standards from the circuit boards up.

・Philosophy
A preamplifier should only attenuate the music signal but not change it in any way while
meeting highest technical specifications. No distortion, no humm or noise at the same time
providing best cross talk and large bandwith performance!
・Layout
The unbalanced design ensures the least amount of compnents in teh signal path. Physical
separation of the left and right channel provides optimal separation and cross talk
performance. High quality relais switch between the inputs, the music signal gets buffered
directly at the input. Therefore the preamplifier is an uncritical load for any source
component. An audio grade coupling capacitor prrtects the preamplifier as well as the
subsequent amplifier and loudspeakers from potential DC components in the music signal.
・Volume control
For the volume control which also controls the balance of the preamplifier, we use only
high-precision, low-noise metal foil resistors. To block out switching peaks during the volume
control process which may be hazardous to power amps, the 520 preamp is equipped with a
second volume control with PGA (Programmable Gain Amplifier), which is only active during
the volume control process.
Similar to a potentiometer, the volume can be adjusted without clicking noises. As soon as
the new desired level value has been fixed, the unit will simply return to the control via the
precision resistors.
・Output stage
The output stage is supposed to drive also long cables lossfree. For this reason it was more
than sufficiently dimensioned. The multi-stage signal amplification is similar to that of the 720
preamplifier. Thereby we achieve a very fast, ultra wideband (1MHz/-3dB) amplification.
・Phono-MC-Preamplifier
Similar to the reference preamplifier 720 the phono preamp of the 520 is also based on a
multi-stage amplification concept using highest grade components.

The 520 preamplifier is operated via its front-panel buttons and rotary control. Quite a

The No 52 is quite simply the finest Mark Levinson preamplifier ever. It is an all-analog, true
dual-monaural design with a two-chassis configuration that separates the critical analog audio
circuitry from the control section to maintain the purest signal paths possible.
The No 52 provides a comprehensive complement of inputs including three balanced XLR and
four unbalanced RCA line-level inputs, and a dedicated phono input that is selectable for
moving coil (MC) or moving magnet (MM) operation. Two sets of XLR and RCA stereo
preamplifier outputs are provided, along with an auxiliary pair of XLR and RCA outputs that
can be configured for fixed or variable level output with independent source selection. This
enables the auxiliary outputs to function either as a third preamp out, a pass-through
full-range subwoofer output or a record output.
The No 52 offers a unity gain SSP (surround sound processor) output that provides the ability
to integrate the audio sources that are connected to it into a home theater system, while
maintaining optimal and independent stereo operation for music sources. The No 52 provides
extensive control and system interface connectivity via Ethernet, Mark Levinson’s proprietary
ML Net, 12V trigger and IR control ports. In addition, a USB 2.0 (A) port facilitates possible
future software upgrades. The No 52 is supplied with a remote control that can also be used to
operate other Mark Levinson components.
The Mark Levinson No 52 is built to an extraordinary level of refinement. Its control section
features mirror-imaged DC power supplies and AC regeneration circuits for remarkably clean
and stable power delivery and signal purity. Individual left and right DC umbilical cords are used
to connect to the audio sections in the second chassis, and control signals are delivered via a
third cable to keep them isolated. The audio chassis is laid out in a mirror image, left/right
configuration with isolated and independent circuit boards for the volume, main and auxiliary
signal paths, and extensive shielding for critical components. The chassis is constructed from
heavy aluminum extrusions and plates.
Like all Mark Levinson 40th Anniversary components, the No 52 is striking and elegant in
appearance, with a rich, brushed metal black and silver faceplate accented by red illumination
against a glass center panel.

B.M.C. Audio introduces the first model in an anticipated series of three new speakers.
This 3-way uses a bipolar balanced configuration with custom-made drivers and external
crossover. The Arcadia features the same driver set on the rear as on the front to
dramatically improve the listener impression of depth at the left and right sides of the
soundstage. Both front and rear baffles feature two 6.1" Kevlar honeycomb midrange drivers
and an air-motion tweeter with a massive motor in conjunction with a light diaphragm.
Two 11" Kevlar honeycomb woofers with 6-magnet drives sit at the sides of each cabinet to
deliver high air movement.
The cabinets are constructed of an amalgam of several aluminum-oxide based ceramics
with multiple grain sizes held together with complex acrylic binders. The external crossover
weighs 37.5 lbs and houses custom-crafted large air core inductors, inductance-free
polypropylene capacitors and polystyrene bypasses. Metal-film resistor arrays replace the
usual MOX or wire resistors for superior precision and sound quality.
Arcadia applies a sealed construction to avoid bass-reflex resonances and significantly
improve LF precision. Each cabinet stands 47.2" high by 20.4" deep by 11.2" wide at the
base, tapering to a narrow width of 7.7" at the top. Each speaker weights 198lbs excluding
the crossover. The cabinet is made from a mold so the color is not applied later but added
directly into the mix to be solid all the way through.
The Arcadia is available in a black or white satin or high gloss finish at a suggested price
under $39.000/pair.

The journey to create the finest unlimited class loudspeaker in the world has stretched the
very boundaries of what is technically and creatively possible in loudspeaker design.
Expanding the performance envelope of the paradigm shifting Q-Series has been an
exponentially challenging task, setting even higher benchmarks than those achieved by our
groundbreaking Q5. Our challenge at the outset was to blend radically new and cutting-edge
technologies into a reference loudspeaker, which from the faintest whisper to the most
eardeafening sound-pressure levels maintains a yet unheard degree of composure and fidelity.
This challenge has been met. The result is a cost-no-object loudspeaker of limitless dynamics,
high efficiency, extreme extension and redefined transparency. Everything we have expected
and something we could have never imagined. Magico is proud to unveil the Q7.
[DRIVER TECHNOLOGY]
In order to achieve the lofty goals of this project under all operating conditions, each and
every driver of the four-way, five-driver Q7 has been designed from the ground up. Effortless
to drive, an astounding 94dB efficiency pushes the Q7 to unimaginable performance levels
while maintaining every grain of resolution and nuance. To create such a highly efficient
loudspeaker the entire complement required new motor systems backed with exceptionally
powerful neodymium magnets, 10 times higher than industry norm. Dual 12-inch bass woofers
and a 10-inch midbass bring Nano-Tec® cone technology into our largest Magico-designed
drivers to date. Working together, they take resolution and extension through the lower
octaves to a new level.
[ENCLOSURE]
Using Advanced Finite Elements Analysis to study ‘in-box’ driver behavior, the Q-Series'
construction techniques were redeployed in a configuration more finely tuned to the specific
parameters of ‘driver to enclosure’ interaction. Comprised of over 100 parts of aluminum,
copper, and stainless steel, all affixed with over 650 fasteners in a calculated labyrinth of
internal bracing, the Q7 provides the ideal combination of mass, dampness and rigidity. A new
three-axis matrix frame, copper decoupling levels, and a 'floating' midrange cavity yield the
most effective multi-faceted strategy of eliminating the cabinet as a secondary acoustic
source, making the Q7 a remarkable architectural feat.
[CROSSOVER]
Magico's elliptical crossover techniques have been employed to create the Q7 4-way filters.
Once again, we have partnered with industry leaders to create a new top shelf of components
to meet the very special demands of this project. Custom ultra-high precision resistors,
capacitors and coils were designed to comprise the crossover network.
The Q7 is our finest achievement: a technical triumph that fully expresses the ultimate passion
and capabilities of Magico. We can think of no better statement to make regarding our

・Philosophy
The 501 monoamplifiers are based in many areas on the proven technical concepts of the
Series 7. However, the "small" monoamplifiers do not have to hide behind their big brothers.
・Amplification
The amplification circuit of the 501 monoamplifier, is based on the technology of the amplifiers
710 and 700. Core is a novel voltage amplification stage without feedback to the input (no
differential amplifier!). It consists of linearized amplifier stages which operate up to a cutoff
frequency of 80 MHz. The current amplification is done in three stages, each stage uses a very
small and thus almost linear operating range. The high Class A operation supplemented by
47,000 microfarads of storage capacitors are resulting in a nearly infinite impulse response.
Massive copper bars on the amplifier board and to the speaker terminals ensure that the
power of the 501 monoamplifier is actually available at the speaker. The high-precision idle
current management ensures optimal Class A operation for all operating conditions, without
the necessity of any readjustment in the music signal. Optimal sound is thereby guaranted
immediately after switching on. Extensive control circuits that protect against high frequency
or DC signals at the input or output short circuit ensure safe operation in all situations.
The input level is also monitored continuously.
・Powersupply
A total of six power supplies - optimized for each function - feed the 501 monoamplifier. The
power supplies to supply the digital and audio circuits are electrically isolated from each other
through opto couplers and transformers . Two modern switched-mode power supplies with a
total power 1'200VA complemented by high performance filtering at the input and output
provide supply voltages in audiophile quality. Locally, these voltages are additionally stabilized
with 6 high speed soulution voltage regulators. They are considerably more stable than
achievable with any conventional, transformer-based power supply technology.

The 501 Monoamplifier is operated via its rotary control on the front panel. It can be switched
on by one another soulution devices with the LINK function.

MAGICO INTRODUCES THE S5
After an incredible five years since the Magico V3’s first release, we are excited to
introduce its successor, the S5. This three-way, four-driver floorstanding loudspeaker
borrows heavily from the peerless Q-Series' technological arsenal and employs new
manufacturing techniques to create what is the most value-laden Magico loudspeaker yet.
The eye will be first drawn to the S5’s uniquely new curved enclosure, which is the world’s
first utilization of ½” thick, 16” diameter extruded aluminum walls in a loudspeaker. Taking
design cues from our iconic Mini, the cabinet design minimizes diffraction effects, internal
resonance, and damping requirements. The elegant, paintable exterior offers a shallow profile
that will complement a wide variety of end-user living environments. Available in our signature
black anodized finish, the S5 is also offered in an array of high gloss and satin M-COAT®
paint blends. A removable black grille is included – a first for a Magico speaker.
Incorporating entirely new dual-10” Magico hybrid Nano-Tec® bass drivers, the S5 is
capable of an astonishing output of 118dB (@ 50Hz-1 meter). Combining an outer cone ring
of aluminum and a Magico Nano-Tec dust cap, the new drivers combine superb power
handling in the low bass with distortion-free response at the top of their pass band. The S5
midrange's dual neodymium, underhung motor system with pure titanium voice coil former is
powerfully efficient and extremely low in distortion. The tweeter is a beryllium diaphragm
model found in selected competitors’ $100,000+ reference offerings. A new neodymium
motor system has been customized to match the S5’s huge dynamic capabilities and power
handling, while retaining its inherent wide dispersion and low distortion. As with all Magico
drivers, the latest custom computer simulations are used to optimize electromagnetic and
thermal behavior.
Tireless research and development have provided the means for a distinct new product that
is undoubtedly Magico. Continuing an uncompromising commitment to quality, design and
performance, we are proud to welcome the S5 as the latest addition to our incomparable line
