Yamaha introduces the
MusicCAST2 Network Music System, a convenient, flexible and expandable
wireless system
for streaming music throughout the home. MusicCAST2 is a WiFi-based system
with no unsightly wires that can be set
up
quickly and easily. The system can distribute audio to up to 32 rooms from
a vast array of sources, including
Rhapsody
digital music streaming service, Internet radio, computers (PC and Mac)
and NAS (Network Attached Storage)
devices.
MusicCAST2 supports
iTunes AAC files via TwonkyMedia Server software which is bundled with the
MCX-RC100
Network
Music Commander. In addition, individual MusicCAST2 Network Music Players
can playback music from iPod
and
Bluetooth devices via optional accessories, as well as from USB thumb
drives.
The MusicCAST2
system consists of the Network Music Commander (MCX-RC100), a slim and
sleek remote control
with
a full-color LCD screen, touch pad and intuitive graphic user interface
(GUI), and Network Music Players
(MCX-A300 and MCX-P200) that can be placed anywhere throughout the home.
Depending on the size of the living
space
and individual preferences, users can employ any number of Commanders and
Music Players, up to 32 each, to

Right out of the
box, MusicCAST2 can smartly integrate multi-room music distribution into
existing home theater
systems.
When Yamaha network media receivers, such as the RX-Z7 or RX-V3900, are on
the same network, the
MCX-RC100
Network Music Commander becomes a multi-zone remote control for these
receivers. Utilizing two-way
communication,
the Network Music Commander can power A/V receivers on, browse and
navigate content, select
sources
and adjust volume levels from anywhere in the house.
MCX-A300 and
MCX-P200 Network Music Players The MCX-A300 Network Music Player only
requires speakers to
deliver
immersive, room-filling sound to the zone in which it is placed. The
player can receive music streamed from the
Rhapsody
online music service, Internet radio and NAS drives even when the computer
is not powered on. The player is
compatible
with a wide array of audio formats, including MP3, WMA (except lossless
and PRO), AAC (except Apple
lossless
and Apple FairPlay DRM), FLAC and WAV.
The MCX-P200 Network
Music Player is similar to the MCX-A300, only it is a pre-amp component
with great setup
flexibility.
A line out terminal enables it to work in conjunction with any A/V
receiver, HTiB or mini-system for
amplification.
The MCX-P200 can function as a universal IR remote with multiple IR outs
that can control other AV
components,
such as a TV, set-top box or Blu-ray/DVD player, via IR flashers and the
MCX-RC100 Commander’s
intuitive
GUI display. The individual remotes sold with each of these receivers and
systems can be put in a drawer.
Yamaha’s dock port
on back of the Network Music Players allows connection to iPods and
Bluetooth devices via
optional
Yamaha accessories (YDS-11 iPod docks and YBA-10 Bluetooth receivers). The
music players also feature
subwoofer
outs for additional bass response in a given zone. Top panel controls
provide convenient access to basic
functions,
such as volume and muting.

The Chiron-Glass1 optical cable we built to offer a high end
alternative to ordinary electrical
balanced or unbalanced digital audio interconnects. The glass fiber
technology must not be
confused with the plastic fiber based Toslink interconnects. Glass
fiber diameters are in the 100
micrometer range while plastice fibers are in the millimeters. Signal
fidelity for glass fibers is
extremely high. The Chiron-Glass1 potentially can transmit signals in
the 100MHz frequency
range over distances of 2 kilometers and more.
The Chiron–Glass1 consists of the following components:
・ A receiver circuitry for AES/EBU or S/PDIF signals
connected via XLR, RCA or BNC
connectors with an associated driver to drive the optical
transmitter.
・ The optical cable in 62.5 / 125 mm technology with ST type
connectors.
・ An optical receiver ciruitry with an associated driver
circuit to drive AES/EBU or S/PDIF
signals on XLR, RCA or BNC connectors.
・ Two high efficiency power supplies to power the transmitter
and receiver modules
separately.
The electrical connectors can be specified for receiver /
transmitter independently. Available
are XLR, RCA or BNC connectors.
The advantages of an optical over an electrical connection are:
・ Isolation between the two connected units. I.e. no ground
loops introduced.
・ Absolutely immune to electrical interference.
・ No emission of electrical interferences.
・ High signal fidelity due to active transmitter and receiver
electronics.
・ Very low jitter figures.
・Capable of crossing long distances with minimal loss.
The Chiron-Glass1 is the ultimate solution for digital audio
interconnects. Optical cables are
available in standard lengths of 1, 3, 5 or 10 meters. Other lengths on
request.

・ Amorphous conductive media (wire) - which is perfectly homogeneous, grain-less – i.e. identical
in all directions, since it has no crystal structure at all;

density and damping. Too much damping usually sterilizes and deadens the sound, while too
little damping is even worse because of excessive “ringing” (unwanted uncontrolled
resonances).
・ Characteristic impedance control: optimized relationships among capacitance, inductance
and DC resistance: the ŚAKRA characteristic impedance and its resonant behavior (“Q” at
RF frequencies) are different from any machine-made cable.
・ Ultra low energy storage dielectric: STEALTH para-vacuum*** (Helium gas) + porous - i.e.
foam-like Teflon. The Helium dielectric, combined with the multicore geometry, are the MAIN
technical advantages of the Śakra, compare to the Indra. Porous Teflon has the lowest
dielectric constant of all solid and semi-solid materials. Low dielectric constant = low energy
storage = low distortion = fast sound. Helium gas dielectric properties is much better than
even porous Teflon, better than air, and better than realistic (commercial) vacuum.
・ Proprietary STEALTH connectors: custom and highly advanced; very low overall mass, solid
silver contacts, machined ultra-modified PTFE (Teflon®) dielectric, Kevlar composite frame,
Carbon Fiber/Titanium shells.
・ Advanced termination technique (high pressure crimping = cold weld) – a direct contact =
seamless transition between the wire and the contact – no intermediate agent (solder)
involved;

Peak Consultから、「Empress VII」登場。
・Enclosure
The multifaceted enclosure is handcrafted in our own facilities by Danish artisans in a 1.5”-
3.0” HDF specially glued sandwich material covered by 0,75” solid wood or acrylic. The side
panels have been made out of “finger tapped” wood or pure acrylic. Each wood panel has
been hand-chosen and assembled by Danish artisans.
The design optimises the off-axis response and avoids diffraction. In order to minimize
acoustical waves, there are no parallel front, back, top or bottom panels. The slant of the front
panel aligns the phase and timing between tweeter, midrange and woofer.
・Transducers
The tweeter：
The tweeter is a 1” soft dome, Hexatech with a non-resonant aluminium chamber. It
features a multiple camber with low compression and a machined aluminium faceplate. Peak
Consult has altered the front plate in a very different way to have a perfect behaviour that
makes it to the extreme. The tweeter performs effortlessly to sonic extremes and brings the
“air” as no dome tweeter before. The most important things about the choice of this
construction were the performances.
The midrange：
The 5” Audio Technology midrange are hand-built specifically for optimal behaviour in The
Empress VII enclosure. The driver features a cone that has been uniquely shaped for this
moving system and a vented magnet system that includes Symmetric Drive, optimising the
linear directivity. It performs with matchless sound staging ability and an imaging tight and
sharp as a Diamond. The Midrange will set new standards to midrange behaviours and will go
beyond
What ever has been done? Peak Consult choose to have a very linear and stable cone, to
the more fancy cones that in Peak Consult ears are to be more unstable in time and more
different in production. The very similar is more coherent instead of use of exotic cones. In
the designs Peak Consult decided to do the most linear design that makes the speakers to
perform effortless in years to come instead of an exotic appearance.
The bass：
The 9” Audio Technology woofer are hand-built and specifically designed for The Empress
VII. Using very special technology in the moving systems makes it a very low-loss driver. The
huge magnets and ventilation that includes Symmetric Drive system makes the driver
reproduce very tight and extremely low frequencies - second to none. This driver will set new
standards to bass reproduction.
・Networks
High frequencies：
The Empress VII includes an acoustical fully compensated second order crossover in the
tweeter/midrange section and it have been isolated from the moving system in it’s own dual
sealed department. The Empress VII only features the best of the best. Duelund Coherent
audio foil capacitors, silver carbon resistors and oiled/waxed inductors by Duelund Coherent
Audio.
Low frequencies：
The low frequency includes very large foiled inductors from. The low frequencies have also
been altered by our straight level impedance and phase control. All sealed in its own isolated
compartment.
Components：
Every component has been chosen for its sonic and musical behaviour, with no
consideration for cost. The crossover is crimped and hardwired with silver soldering. The
crossover is sealed in it’s own compartment to avoid microphony distortion and to shield it
from electrical and magnetic radiation from rest of the system. Peak Consult uses only the
best parts to do this High End loudspeaker. Imagine there is used more than 300 meters of
components in a speaker and the end user had to decide for his only 2 x something. The
speaker has a hart and for that only the finest is exerted.
Internal wire：
Peak Consult uses a special OEM silver wire from Duelund Coherent audio foil for the
upper frequencies and a special Peak Consult manufactured high current cable for the bass.
Termination：
The true Bi-wire termination is done with The WBT platinum signature.

・The name?
The Empress VII boasts an extremely linear frequency response, on-axis as well as of-axis.
This makes it a very accurate loudspeaker in a “real World” environment. The name says it all;
the speaker performs and looks like the most beautiful Empress. “Nothing given and nothing
taken, just pure music” and still behaves like an Empress."
